Weekly poll: would you buy an HTC U12+?

27 May 2018
The U12+ has many strengths, but it launched late in the game. Many already upgraded their phone this year, also competing phones got cheaper.

My options are pretty limited but other than the Pixel 2 XL, worthy compromises, any phone which is missing a headphone jack is a No Buy from my perspective.

After the hype of the One M8 made me buy it and regret immediately, there won't be a 3rd HTC for me. Just no thanks.

I think that I will buy it but after a year when I will think of buying a new phone, by then its performance and price ratio will be better 😎 but in general now it might be the best phone on the market or at least one of the best and the only issue for me is the lack of a headphone jack, but I could live without it when in all other aspects this phone seems to be a beast 😎

No. I won't buy HTC products anymore when it comes to mobile phones. Reasons:

                            1. They didn't learn - Battery is still subpar. Others are able to provide larger capacity batteries even though the chipsets they are using are "efficient" (are SD high-end chipsets really that efficient in the real world?). Larger capacity batteries are always welcome without complaints whatsoever.
                            2. HTC U12+ is waaay too expensive for the price not having headphone jack, larger capacity internal storage, and their update policy sucks!
                            3. What do they have to offer that others don't? How many times have you disappointed your loyal buyers? We don't forget. These (HTC) people are banking on their past glory. Wake up people, that's been long gone and a lot of supposed to be loyal buyers have shifted to other brands. If you want to win them back, listen to them for your own sake. But as the saying goes, it's hard to teach old dogs new tricks. So, we'll just wait for your demise, a second time...

Kiyasuriin, 27 May 2018THERE IS an adapter, you mean the jack. No jack.HTC confirmed on Twitter, no adapter coming

Keep in mind: HTC is "recovering" financially from numerous fiscal issues. They sold their parents to Google for capital to keep the business afloat semi relatively. Point being in order for HTC to turn some sort of profit from the 'U12+' , it makes since that their prices are amongst the highest in the world, at least for their flagships. Yes it's sucks donkey for consumers... yet remember, this new flagship could potentially see a few price drops over the course of the next year. I can't see it remaining this high for more than 3-6 months. If you want one and don't like initial pricing... I advise you to wait for a price reduction or two .
