        It mentioned here : http://www.forum.nokia.com/devices/6301

That the WLAN Function of this handset is only for the use of UMA-technology. So you cannot go on the Internet through a WIFI-hotspot.

This phone is thicker than 6300, very good! Thin phones are very difficult to handle especially in texting. I dont care if its the trend today, thin phones are just so uncomfortable to manuever & it is also easily bent especially the plastic made which can cause damage.
Good for the 6301, its more thicker & i think it uses a thicker battery too which could mean a longer usage time... let's just hope that it is. I hope NOKIA is listening.

Who needs a 3G in this phone if it has a WYLAN & besides, it doesnt have a front camera for video calling which is the main aspect of 3G. But if anyone really insist, then install an OPERA MINI in this phone, it's better than 3G based in my own experience.

you see! even the upcoming cheap phones are being equipped with WLAN... what a steal compared to those early su*kers who bought the N95 and N80 for an expensive price.

If anyone have used it, please tell about its battery timing. Because the battery timing in 6300 was really pathetic.

everything is nonsense with nokia, they give the same features & just change the top panel with different resolutions of camera...sony is the best.. 6301 is EXACTLY the same crap 6300 & has the same poor battery ....

To my understanding 6301 is the same size as the 6300. http://www.mobiletracker.net/archives/2006/11/28/nokia-6300.
The 11.7 is the min thickness and 13.1 max.

I agree...battery life on the 6300 is just below par, please increase by at least 20%! It's such a killer phone!!

Nokia always do this after they find out the phone they have produced as sold well, produce an mproved versions, but its one thing Nokia should have done is improved the battery life on the 6301 as the 6300 as a weak battery life an also might have even added a flash light on the 6301 as the camera on the 6300 is not very good in dark conditions,i think the 7500 an 7900 are the improved version of the 6300 but will turn out more expensive
