Why is almost entire European network infrastructure split between Alcatel, Nokia and Huawei? Aren't European people worried about security? Besides Huawei is 3rd in Europe, so if there were any security concerns, I'm pretty sure they won't hesitate to throw them out. Or are you saying Huawei only spies on US and does not care about Europe inspite of EU being bigger than US? Besides while apple paid 2 billion to Nokia, they didn't pay anything to HTC, what was that, patents cancelling each other's infiltration? If there is no lobbying and patent laws, why is it so that Chinese companies face sanction in States and US companies like Qualcomm face sanction in SEA for patents? Isn't it weird coincidence that only Asian companies are fined in US and apple gets away scot free inspite of their own violations? Think of it when you can..

      Huawei Phones were banned in the US cause of Security Reasons, ZTE because they were selling phones to countries which have sanctions imposed on them, Samsung and Apple and other brands certified to sell in the US are doing neither , its not called lobbying its a matter of National Security and Pride.

      To Answer your question Apple and Samsung are not ripping off or Counterfeiting Xiaomi here its the other way around , Apple Doesn't need such tactics to survive.

      Have you heard to Apple and HTC lawsuit HTC devices infringe two claims of patent #5,946,647, Did you know Know that Apple paid Nokia $2 billion as part of a patent lawsuit settlement.

      China is known for Counterfeiting and that won't change till strict action is taken against them , Which harsh lawsuits Imposed which will affect and ultimately lead to closeure of the offending companies.

Essential was one of first with notch, apple made it popular. And I don't think design of the Nokia notch looks like essential. Essential had camera cutout, Nokia has full fledged notch with speaker grill and stuff. Even if essential had first phone with notch, does that make copying it's design ok? Even that counts as copying. Besides, I dare them to sell this one in states first, on any of big 4 that is, without apple suing them ...

            Explain why is there apple Samsung duopoly in US market?. Explain why are there only 3-4 manufacturers that can sell on all 4 carriers? Explain why Huawei was banned in US?. Explain why apple could get away with copying HTC's antenna design?. Explain why apple could get away with out of court settlement after Nokia sued them for patent infringement? .Protectionism and lobbying exists, deal with it dude. China does the same with it's companies, so what's the problem with that?

              This design really comes from the same company which did the beautiful Mi Mix series? My god, this is the ugliest design. Was thinking to go with Xiaomi again after my redmi 4 prime but maybe time for an XZ2 Compact, fatty but i like to look at it compared to this one.

              Maybe they want this design for people trying to stop using their phone often. So many fat bezels.

                    I hope the notch doesn't come to redmi note series ,if it comes then I guess note 5 pro would probably be their last best looking redmi note phone

Essential copied the idea of it by moving the camera in the center of the screen and have notch in there. Then Apple copied from there on and made the notch wider. Then other companies did the same. Apple will copy everything and call it innovation and if someone copy from them. then they call it a stealing and need to be sued :D

                          Wrong move Xiaomi. You go with the flow with ugly notch. Sorry for notch lovers, I cannot swallow your notch.

                                    Why have they left that thick bezel at the bottom of the screen. They could have pushed the screen little down and avoided the notch on the top.

                                        Xiaomi is banned from selling meditek phones in India because of the patent dispute with Ericsson.

                                        Recently Coolpad filed a patent infringement lawsuit against Xiaomi.

                                        Alas the laws in China , India and south and central asia regarding patents and Rippoffs are not yet stringent.

                                        Also any company that sues a Chinese trophy company! The government can make it impossible for them to operate in China.

                                        Hence Apple is quiet , cause China is their main market , also one of the reason why Xiaomi hasn't entered US yet , Huawei couldn't do it for one with all their might.
