Speed lanch

Remember, if the reports are true, SD625 in a Redmi A series is a huge leap from the measly SD425. So we might pass another year with this good ol' chipset, but this time it goes to budget segment. Huawei, Samsung are big players that also play this strategy (with their own Kirin 659 and Exynos 7870, respectively). So the last thing to do is hope that it will come to an end

      5.5"?

Why? Leave that size to the Note 6A.

Anonymous, 29 May 2018Mmm 720p? Nowadays even budget phones need Full HD+.No, they dont.

More pixels increase the burden of the GPU a lot. And these budget phones dont have enought GPU to expend just because some people dont wanna pay $50 more on a midranger.

SD625 is so efficient, it can't even run slot machine reel games without stuttering

I didn't even have to open the article to know it's powered by SD625...

Xiaomi has had all Mi branded devices come out with USB C the last 20 months. Hopefully they get this on forthcoming Redmi devices, fingers crossed..:-)

Geric.770, 29 May 2018SD 625 again? Please Xiaomi, no more! That's how it is nowadays. Huawei loves Kirin 659 in nearly all of their low to mid range phones. Samsung has eyes firmly set on Exynos 7870 or lower. LG has unsold stock of Snapdragon 4xx series. HTC too is party to old Snapdragon SoC. Xiaomi finds new ways to sell SD625. I mean all the launches Qualcomm does for SD66x or SD63x or above, hardly anything worthwhile reaches the market it is intended for. Heck even SD450 is priced from 8k INR (Redmi 5) all the way to 25k INR (Samsung A6+). Wonder what is left for consumers apart from recycled products year after year with marginal improvements but substantial price hikes!

                                      SD 625 again?
                                      Please Xiaomi, no more!
