a 20MP front-facing sensor with large 2µm pixels ? is that even possible? why waste a potentially a good sensor spec on the front, when you could just put it on the rear...

Nice looking device. The specs are good, the price seems to be fair. Of course 73 mm wide is absolutely uncomfortable for use.

Quite sad that it has big screen. I was hoping for 5.0 inch which is perfect for me.

No 3.5mm, small battery, no global LTE bands, big size, big price.
Clearly a device for Asian markets.

Arif238, 31 May 2018Guys a I need a suggestion, If it comes aroung 20000 INR in... moreDon't even think about honor but Mi 8 SE will be launched(only if they decide to launch it in India) in late September in India. If you can wait that long, your only choice should be Mi 8 SE.

1799 yuan means Rs. 18,999 (approx.) So by paying Rs 4000 more, Indians will get a compact flagship device that outperforms their 'national phone' redmi note 5 pro in many aspects.
SCREEN - Super AMOLED in MI8 SE vs IPS lcd in RN5 pro. People drool over super amoled panels of Samsung so good work Xiaomi !
CAMERA - Better aperture and bigger pixels with so called 'AI' in both front and rear camera than RN5 pro.
SIZE - At 147x73x7.5 its similar to MI3 (2013 model) so it can be easily pocketed unlike other 18:9 behemoths.
PROCESSOR - Snapdragon 710 might perform in same league as SD 821 so gamers can rejoice !
The only cons are absence of 3.5 mm jack , infrared port and FM radio ! Battery can be fast charged with QC 3.0 enabled type C charger so 3120 mah capacity doesn't sound that bad. I wish they had re-positioned camera assembly just above fingerprint scanner, just like Nokia does. Many people hate notch so feature to hide it will be provided as well ...

TwelveMoon, 31 May 2018If you prefer more RAM and storage, go on and add 3000 INR ... moreAFAIK, the SD710 should be equal in performance to SD821, which in itself is superior to Kirin 960, and is more efficient due to 10nm node.
I think the Mi 8 SE is better since it's a newer phone (would be supported for longer) and has more modern overall aesthetics.
Honor 8 Pro only if the 2K screen is needed.

Why Xiaomi is missing a global shop website? :(
I am a bit skeptic of buying a phone with 300-400€ cost from aliexpress, although I did get an official Mi Band 2. But then again, from the same shop, people reported getting fake ones.

Xhxhyy, 31 May 2018If the numbers don't lie...This QSD 710 is basically a more... moreThis is what I love about the new era of smartphone SoCs.
Because of our major leap in technology since 2016, now the same technologies are found in phones for only $300 in just 2 years.
The days of "only flagships can run the heaviest games" are nearly over. Even SnapDragon 625, which can now be found on $200 phones, is still efficient yet powerful enough for daily tasks and can handle most things just fine.

Arif238, 31 May 2018Guys a I need a suggestion, If it comes aroung 20000 INR in... moreIf you prefer more RAM and storage, go on and add 3000 INR for the Honor 8 Pro. If you don't mind of notch and probably lesser performance (but more efficient) QSD 710, go for the 8 SE
