no band 20 (800) means this is a no starter in Europe
I really don't understand why Xiaomi keeps shooting itself in the foot in Europe and at the same time opening up all those new stores here

If the numbers don't lie...This QSD 710 is basically a more efficient version of QSD 820 with many more new-a-little-bit-gimmicky feature. Sweeet...

pretty sure 20mp front camera can not have 2um size pixels. that would require the biggest photo sensor in the phone maybe ever

If there's one thing that Xiaomi won't ditch, it's their great pricing of their products and still not cutting corners on the overall quality of them.
I'm not a notch fan, but the fact that the screen is AMOLED (perfect blacks) and has an option to cover the horns, I'm completely fine!
Meanwhile, let's take a moment to realize that Samsung's Galaxy J7 Pro is still around $300, and Apple's iPhone 6 is still around $350.

Finally! I found my perfect phone. A compact device with a great screen to body ratio , amoled screen and AN ACTUAL good processor unlike Samsung's midrange array of devices. Mixed in with it's optimal pricing, no way I'm missing out on this one. Just hoping it does have the headphone jack, that would be an extra plus.

I take that back, this phone is so much bang for the buck

Regardless of the notch and other compromises, at $300 or less, this phone is a great deal

Finally something that I want to buy. Good specs, at least on paper, just the right screen size, and the body too! Decent price, and fresh tech. I just hope they don't increase the price too much when it reaches the shores of Europe.
The Mi8 is cool, but this one should sell more, since it is cheaper, smaller, and therefore more attainable. At least, that is my personal opinion. I don't own a "notched phone", but if I were ever to buy one, this would be it. Not too big, and not too expensive. I just hope that it turns out to be a good gadget not only on paper, but in practice too.
I dislike the fact that it lacks a headphone jack and an SD card slot, but I could live with that. I would get used to it. But only if the rest of the phone is really good.
Where I live, you can buy an S8 for 450 EUR with warranty and all, so if I could grab this one for something like 300 EUR, I would be very happy. They are of the same size, and if the performance turns out to be similar (new gen SD 710), I would buy the new Mi8 SE. But, if they try to rip me off, forget it.
Can't wait for the reviews.

For under $300 it's a good deal. And vivo nex with same soc is $700 which is twice price than this phone.

US$281 / 240 Euro... is a steal for a Brand New device.
Especially that Red Coloured model with the 4GB/64GB version. Should be enough storage for >95% of people, even without a microSD card. Just offload your videos and photos to your HDD/PC/Cloud every once in a while.
Performance wise, its above the QSD 821, around equal to the Kirin 950, and a tad below the Exynos 8890. Overall, about ~15% slower than the fastest QSD 845 with the same power drain (based on PCMark Work 2.0)

Since there's 3 versions they could've at least made one notch free
