Honestly the Tab S3 should have already released with the 835 not 820. Now Tab S4 with 845 and more ram, it's a premium tablet.

All is a marketing trick. So Samsung Tab S4 with snapdragon 835 is an excellent choice if you don't want to kill your eyes in a 6" mobile and charge your mobile 2x in 24 hours.

Ipad pro and samsung tab s3, s4 doesn't have crappy SoC anymore. They are powerful enough for facebook, mail and all tasks. Samsung Tab S3 is powerful like Samung S7 edge. Samsung Tab S4 will be powerful at least as Samsung S8+.

It breaks my heart to see this. I was addicted to my Google Nexus 7 (2013), the best Android tablet ever made. Nowadays, there is absolutely no Android tablet that can compete with any new iPad, even the budget iPad.
I hope someone out there still creates real tablets with SnapDragon 845 (or the best one at the time) so we can do real stuff on it. Preferable between 7 and 8 inches. Mini tablets are the best of both worlds.

Reading this from my Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4, it was the last tablet I see with top specs and good price. Now the latest Android tabs cost too much and have flagship SoC from the last year, its not a good practice from my opinion.

Right now only Apple who can give reasonable specs tablet for reasonable price. The only good android tablet was Samsung S series, and S3 cost hella expensive compared to iPad 2018. Midrange android tablet, the samsung galaxy Tab A series was garbage from screen to specs. The last reasonable android tablet specs to price was Tab S2, its a shame samsung discontinued the tab S2.

i am using tab s2 everyday. how to read those books or magazines nicely if it is not a tab? not wise to abandon the tab. tab still has its demand
between tab s2 and ipad pro. i use ipp more as it has larger screen.
when feel something too heavy too tired to read, use a smaller screen. when have great new interest on something, use larger screen to load.

Anonymous, 02 Jun 2018What does the SoC had to do with the screen size?A huge HD screen costs a lot, so in order to keep the price reasonable, tablets usually have midrange SoCs and half the RAM of the current flagship phone.
There are exceptions, but thats what's good about them... you can have a very reasonably priced book reader, drawing board, or anything that fits your usage for less than $500. Sometimes even less than $200.
I don't see any 8" or 10" phone in the near future for less than $200 :/

I already told you to be realistic about your expectations. Not everyone can afford or need that much. We're talking about consumer level tablets which not many are close to smartphones.

For years Android smartphones/phablets have been cannibalizing their own tablets, especially when Android OS has tablet features built into the OS. So any Android smartphone can run with and support mice, split screen multitasking, OTG, and so much more. Plus Chrome OS running on laptops and tablets can now run Android apps. So this makes sense.

And have it smoother than a 5.8incher. To achieve that I just bought a Cintiq. Having an i7 CPU, 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage. Plus a gorgeous, powerful GPU in a 15.6inch display WITH a pen. Made my day. (Sure. I spent on the way like 2500$ on the way. But it's so fking worth it! I can work more flawlessly on my works. Have it more accurate. And DRAW! did I mention Osu! Gameplay? That too)

Android is the desktop Windows PC equivalent in the mobille world. It's universal, you can connect any USB device to it that you can to desktop Windows PC (for example pendrive, external HDD, CD/DVD drive, ...), you have freeform floating window view, like in a desktop PC, you can do anything with an android phone. You can install Android on phones with different hardware (CPU, GPU, ...) like the desktop Windows. That's why there are a lot of different manufacturers with Android phones with different hardware.
iOS (iPhone) is not a real operating system. It's a closed, limited, feature phone like system. It doesn't have basic features like a real file manager. You can't even access the file system.

I have never ever been interestend in tablets. I have always known that a tablet is an unnecessary device.
