gam30to, 06 Jun 2018honestly WHO ARE YOU to judge the direction of this million... moreGeez, why were you triggered so badly? You need to relax, and take your own advice to shut it! You're the one who needs to THINK. If a company cannot sell or generate enough sales and profit, what do you think will happen? Remember what happened to the giant Nokia in the past? When they challenged the market by staying on an OS that couldn't get the market to purchase it? Options? I get it. But like what I've said, be real. People don't purchase mobile phones just because they want to be different. If there's a market who needs physical keyboard, then fine. But don't expect that the very small market will keep the company alive. And lastly, again, relax. It's not like you make a profit out of every BB phone sold.

Aslipundit, 07 Jun 2018Exactly.
Typing quickly on a touch screen is never a pl... moreThe BB Classic is better than the Key series. It runs BB OS which offers a much smoother experience and is much better equipped to cater for (and take advantage of) the QWERTY keyboard (shortcuts etc). Even better was the Q10 which IMHO has been BB's best handset since the Bold reigned supreme.
In regards to poor touchscreen typing vs QWERTY, it's only the case with majority of Android handsets as of the last good couple of years. I've noticed significant slowdown since good ol Android Kit Kat.. the reason I had to switch back to ios.. speed typing on android handsets (even with top tier chipsets) has become a no go for me. It just can't keep up and mistakes happen far too often as a result. I bitched and whined, but google did nothing.
The BB Key2 would be a fantastic device if it were running BB OS.. but it's not.. and again.. BB won't listen to their old fans.. they just want to cater to the masses.. which makes little sense to having the physical QWERTY.. which is why they are no longer number one in the business segment.
BB could do really well if they released a full touchscreen handset on efficient mid-ranged specs with excellent battery life running BB OS with their touchscreen keyboard (like the z10 and z30). Get it IP certified with a headphone jack and good camera and people would take notice. Too bad they don't listen.

Anonymous, 07 Jun 2018How's the internet browsing on Passport? In terms of what?
Browsing is nice. Not that much different as on others.
Because of the 1:1 you can also easily surf on non-mobile websites.
If you brows for a location, you can not use the link in google to navigate there (no google services installed). You have to copy that address and go to the BB Map...

Got BB 9900, Q5, Q10, but browsing internet on them is terible, but keyboard- like from heaven. Wanted Keyone, but 649 euros from Bite (Vodafone company owns) is way too much for me, so I got XZ1 Compact and very very mis the old good Blackberry keyboard.

I bought the Key one. The keyboard was that bad compared with BB Passport. Hope the keys are dimed and not that glossy (was a hard time to use the keyboard in the sun.)
Also on the Passpord the keys much powerful attached. Still using my Passport for the excellent keyboard. There is also no need to press "Alt" for the additional characters. (much faster typing)
And could please someone tell me why the "Alt" and "Shift" key are twisted instead to keep it like on a PC keyboard? (hard for me to get use to it)

Last year, I had purchased KeyOne Black edition for 40K as my daily driver & Nokia 3 for 10K as my backup phone. Nokia 3 got Oreo update in April 2018, but my KeyOne is still stuck on Nougat. I am still waiting for Oreo update which was long back promised by BB. BB is too lazy to update their old handsets. Nokia 3 will get Android P next year, BB won't be able to update to P on KeyOne.

kerfax, 06 Jun 2018Well shows how much you know. Many corporate users prefer ... moreExactly.
Typing quickly on a touch screen is never a pleasant experience, despite all the so called improvements. Its never the same, no matter how many prediction or correction gimmicks you have.
Try editing a text heavy word document on the go, with a standard issue android phone and see exactly what I mean. Its a pathetic experience. The cursor is never there where you want and unless you have supermodelesque thin fingers, its a pain in the ****.
My manager is actually using a BB classic still! He is obviously going to get this.
The fact that you can scroll through webpages by simply swiping the keypad is an amazing convenience.
The value of this phone is only realized by the people who need it. If you do not see the value in the phone, there are thousands of alternatives out there.

Jimbob, 06 Jun 2018Small upgrades over the original.. not worth full price.Neither are the last 3 years worth of Samsung, Apple, and all the Chinese brand phones.
All glass slabs, same chipset speeds across all brands save for Apple, and the biggest argument among the tech tards is bezel sizes measured in tenths of a milimeter and notch/no notch?
Really? That is innovation when you measure screen size differences in 1 millimeter increments or total weight being a gram or two lighter? Are people that bored that silly stuff like that consumes them?
I just hope a CDMA Key2 is released at the same time. Then this will be my next phone.
