They should have gone for on screen navigation and increased screen size, considering the change in navigation style on Android P.

Small upgrades over the original.. not worth full price.

I know, I am a consultant. Many of our clients us BB. Hate Apple and do not trust the many Android suppliers out there except for Google itself. Plus there is a pretty good number of BB loyalists. To each his own.

Mree, 06 Jun 2018There's no specific market for Blackberry anymore. People n... morehonestly WHO ARE YOU to judge the direction of this million dollar company? They have tried to compete with modern flagships and failed. Therefore it is best to stick with what they are good at and i think it is fine. Let them BE. They are not aiming to be the flagship anymore. Let the company do their thing for those in need of a phone as such. Honestly I love their designs. It's refreshing to have some thing a little different than EVERY phone with dual camera and a notch exactly like an iphone. Instead of complaining why Blackberry is not the 100th phone company to make another phone with notch, THINK. We need companies like this to give us options. So if i were you i would just shut it and let it be. We have got enough iphone X look alikes, let the people with original designs BE what they aim to be.

There's no specific market for Blackberry anymore. People no longer need a physical keyboard to type fast and well on a phone to compose emails. Be real. Whoever's saying that this phone is for businessmen / corporate people need to wake up. I have a corporate phone. I email a lot. But I don't find myself wanting to purchase a phone with a physical keyboard. This is more of an homage to a dying breed of what-once-was a great phone. Corporate phones are now either iPhones or Samsung. After all, there are a lot of security and encryption solutions that can match BB's known secure system in the past. So if BB wants to stay relevant and make those sales, they have to start offering phones that can truly compete with the current flagship and stop resting on their laurels.

Anonymous, 06 Jun 2018Same price with nokia 8 SD835Irrelevant as they are targeted at different markets.

The Key2 is for adult users needing accurate typing for business, plus multi-day battery.

The Nokia 8, another glass slab copy, one among many, for children to game on.

                  Big difference.

If only they went so far as to put 4K man battery inside, the latest 636 chip inside and the camera stacked up well against the current flagships, could I even consider this. Such a shame because I love the innovation with the physical keyboard. No experience like it exists on iOS or Android. Q10 was the best keyboard imo ever made.

stop complaining about the price . bb doesnt aim us as their market . their aim those corporate people that work with email and a lot of wording . even me i want the keyone . but i dont complain about the price

raschmidt, 06 Jun 2018This doesn't look like a big improvement. Aside from the C... moreWell the chipset was one of the big disappointments of the KeyOne.
This is better... even if of course it would be even nice with a even higher end chipset, down-clocked if they felt it was draining the battery.

The camera has larger aperture, and a second camera, so it is not clearly worse than the KeyOne's. And even if the actual potential camera module output is worse, software also plays a part in the performance, so it might be better of utilizing the capabilities of the sensor compared to Keyone and thus be on par, even if the theoretical output of the keyOne camera module is better.

Typically we don't see major improvements with each iteration when it comes to phones.
So it is probably not meant to be a destroyer of the KeyOne. And still, some business users gets to upgrade yearly, even if the improvements on offer are limited.

I don't understand the complaints about the price.
Sure it seems overpriced, however, there is nothing else like it on the market, so there is no reference to put it up against.
The keyboard is also a component, or actually several. So it can't be judged only by the SD chipset.

I guess a motorola Z3 Play + keyboard mod, is the competition. And I don't think that combination is considerably cheaper, if at all. And it comes with a lower end Chipset 636 compared to 660.

I'm disappointed with the capacitive touch buttons. On-screen or physical, in my mind. Preferably with On-screen buttons and 16:9 aspect ratio for App compatibility. I would also suggest that some of the keys on the keyboard could perform the control key actions, when not on a field for text input.
I'm also disappointed that they did not put extra symbol keys on there that could be re-programmed to for example local letters, or symbols that the user use often. They have two locations that seems like blanks, that may be replaced by keys on some markets, but I see no reason then why those would not re programmable keys on the international version.

When it comes to the camera, we will have to see what the actual performance will be like.
It will probably hold up against the KeyOne, perhaps only by having more up to date software, so that the actual hardware might be less capable but the performance stil on par.

I do wish it came with some kind of IP classing against water. even if it was just IPx4 for splash resistance, and no real dirt protection.

But when it comes to price, all I could say is that I wish it was less... but there is no way of telling if it is clearly overpriced compared to the competition. Pretty much every device out there is overpriced, as otherwise they would be sold at cost, not generating any profit for the maker... Some have done that in attempts to establish themselves.

I find brighter lens give better result than bigger pixels for the same difference ratio.
