Anonymous, 06 Jun 2018made a mistake of buying HTC U11. people complain samsu... moreHmmm no... If you mean updates, then Huawei is way worse. But I dont complain, because with more updates your system becomes slower. HTC loses customers mainly because of EXPENSIVE RESERVE PARTS. Their phones arent bad, I likes HTC 10 it was pretty good shaped with good specs. But when you have to pay 100e plus for a repair screen on a mid device you wonder "what did I bought"???

made a mistake of buying HTC U11.

people complain samsung about updates, samsung is much much better with updates, my Samsung S6 got updates bi or tri monthly. It was never more than 3 months behind on security patches. OS updates are about half year behind.

HTC Europe, this is June and still rocking November 1st Security patch. Mind you this is a flagship.

No wonder you are losing customers. I make it my mission to actively discourage HTC buyers if any.

Just look at the design of full metal grey and gold M8 and M9 , add the absence of 3.5 mm jack with powerful htc sound and you will understand why htc is loosing money every year.

            Funny part is:
            they lose money
            AND
they sell products overpriced and make us lose money.
            BOTH SIDE LOSES
Make them 25-30% cheaper so both sides gain.
I could buy U11when it came out if it was cheaper...

U12+ is enticing, but I'm a phone every 2-3 years guy. Not an annual buyer. I wish my favorite phone company would learn.

*Re-add 3.5mm Jack (no jack only pushes people away, doesn't gain customers)
*Glass back + wireless charging or Metal back.
*At least $150 less than Samsung Galaxy S Series
*Get your phones back in stores.

These phones truly are great. But no one can even hold them in their hands without purchasing them. No one can hear the kick ass audio quality. Honestly, include the USB/USonic headphones in the packaging while keeping the audio jack. Consumers want options. Give it to them! It just sucks, but the time I'm ready to upgrade it seems I'll have to look elsewhere.

How are Googles audio/vibration quality? When I had a Samsung I would sleep thru my alarms and miss calls due to weak vibration all the time. I won't be going back to them...

HTC could have nailed the U12. They could have used the camera tech from the Pixel 2 (is their own that they supplied to Google, but ask for a little Google secret sauce). They could then have ditched the dim, energy sapping LCD, and gone for a decent smiled. Added a 4000mA battery, wireless charging. Hey presto, you have a great camera, epic battery life. Job done. The jack would also have been welcome.

Here's a suggestion for a model HTC. Create a HTC duplicate of Nokia muscle phone feel x6 with or without notch but include things they did not do. Metal back - notification light 660 or 710 chip set. Presto... great size new HTC A9.

People here have no idea.. HTC's phones are amazing, reliable and powerful..
I own a OnePlus 5t which is perfect but I'll never forget my days with HTC. One day if they stick around I'll probably go back to buying their phones

People still buy htc phones in 2018 ?

Because their phones are crap and overpriced. It's not exactly rocket science. They need to change their strategy or their going out of business

to me the quality is there . but not the price . their price are like double the price of xiaomi with the same spec . asus and htc are alike . somehow miracle happen and with asus zenfone max pro m1 . asus did something unexpected. priced it lower than redmi note 5 . i think asus just notice it . but htc still stick with their high price . i love the brand htc . nostalgically coz i own a m7 . but the price just doesnt make sense . making a phone with sd 450 and price is around RM900 . thats htc . where else other competitor pretty much using sd 625 636 on that price range . i dont see how htc will survive .

I need a new HTC but am not dying to get the 12+. My money is here, come and take it. Make an aesthetically more appealing phone, a more durable looking one and instead of sqeezing in 4 cameras, tuck in a 3.5 jack please. I need a nice case too like the superb dot view case. I like the LGV30's look and feel but I won't buy an LG, the HTC is a much better phone yet I won't buy the 12+ either. What a pity.

                                Anonymous, 06 Jun 2018V35 is a good option.Best phones 2018 (so far):

SD card slot + waterproofing, no 3.5mm jack:

                                https://m.gsmarena.com/search.php3?chk35mm=selected&sAvailabilities=1,2&sIPCerts=1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9&sChipset=27&idCardslot=1

SD card slot + waterproofing + 3.5mm jack:

                                https://m.gsmarena.com/results.php3?chk35mm=selected&sAvailabilities=1,2&sIPCerts=1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9&sChipset=27&idCardslot=1

I can live without the 3.5mm jack (though I don't like it one bit!), but I can't live without the SD card slot.. Those phones may be better, I don't care.

It all depends on what kind of a user you are.

PS Don't even dare recommending me a NOtch wannabe replika brand!

BLS NE, 06 Jun 2018Pretty simple, HTC stopped making phones anyone wants to bu... moreAgreed, HTC ruined their brand reputation by releasing endless phones with lack of software support. The last couple years their flagships have been good but no ones going to spend that sort of money on HTC flagships when they can get a Samsung, Pixel, iPhone and more recently Sony is coming back up. LG is following suit of HTC but they can afford taking losses as their business is diversified and not relying on smartphones. Now Google buying the best HTC engineers( as you can tell HTC design and hardware was good, software was rubbish) it's only going to get worse for them.

High price with more flaws than others?

Maybe htc should follow oneplus strategy since they can never compete against Samsung and iPhone.
