Reportedly, Samsung is keeping the same Galaxy Note8 design for the Note9 to cut costs

06 June 2018
Samsung Galaxy Note9 won't offer any radical design changes over the Galaxy Note8.

Well, I guess I'll just grab a S9+ as soon as the price gets below the 600 € mark. Then I'll wait and see what novelties the S10 or Note 10 will bring, if they are worth the upgrade then I'll get one of them a year after they're unveiled.

Boebus666, 06 Jun 2018Its kinda difficult to improve on perfectionWhich Samsung has failed at since the Note 5.

The Note 4 was that last true Note worth buying.

      What what what?

No 7" screen oversized, overpriced, glass slab phablet costing $1,200 or more?

      Say it isn't so Homer!

They always say things about cutting costs but never about cutting the price of their devices. In fact it's the other way around!

            Please make a 16:9 version.
            18:9 is little bit ugly.

I have no problem with that.

Samsung cutting costs to make it 990 € !!!!!!!!!

Samsung would atleast change the fingerprint placement probably.

Apple kept the same design for 4 years. Sony kept the same design since the first Z series. So I see no problem with Samsung keeping the same overall design of the Note8 for the Note9 which is only a year old. They might even price the Note9 slightly lower than the Note8 since the Galaxy S9/S9+ were also slightly cheaper at launch than the Galaxy S8/S8+.

Lol like they have a choice, Samsung made a serious mistake by building almost all their major phones with curve screen edges. From S-series curve screen to NOTE series and now even their midrange A-series also comes with curve edges. As far as I am concern Samsung has lost it. Their design doesn't pull an hair string anymore, Samsung can rest. Let Vivo handle that shit

geordie81, 06 Jun 2018im fine with the same phone design for no more then 2 years... moreI think the S10 will have a completly new design which is why they didn't bother with the S9 being changed but the S10 will be an anniversary so no doubt they will go all out. Hench didn't bother with the S9 this year.

That's really bad because Note 8 is too heavy, too bulky and just not convenient to use and this is the reason why many people didn't like it. Note 7 had a perfect size / weight and overall was much more convenient. Samsung needed to leave Note series in 16:9 format but reduce top and bottom bezels without increasing size and weight. Except bezels - almost everything else about Note 7 was very good (except battery problem which was fixed in Note FE).

Its kinda difficult to improve on perfection

Alien , 06 Jun 2018Everyone who? The only brands with a notch are the Chinese ... moreAnd those Chinese replikas make up for a lot of the market these days. That notch is hideous but at least in case of Apple it carries an amazing tech, something I don't expect from Samsung, Sony and HTC without a notch and bezels.
