Like the S9, if it isn't broken, why fix it?

Having a device that's recognisable is more important than fitting a couple of notches into your display :D

LG Superfan, 06 Jun 2018Cutting manufacturing cost does not mean less retail price ... moreNo the price increase will be the same.. Its just Samsungs margins that will be bigger... Samsung is a lazy, "fuck-all" company that doesn't care about the consumer, or has the IQ or creativity to make something new. They are also liars, Exhibit A: The foldable phone that they brag about and hype, but never will release. Hope the go bankrupt

[deleted post]Everyone who? The only brands with a notch are the Chinese replikas. Oh and LG with one model I think.
Samsung, Sony, HTC don't have a NOtch.
Why don't you get that people don't like it?
I would rather have some bezeless on my phone and wait one more year or two, until the full bezeless display will be available for everyone.
Then, even you will realize the notch is garbage.

At least there is no notch.

JOHN, 06 Jun 2018i rather they stay with the same design than to got to that... moreSamsung is no iPhone copycat these days (not the first Galaxy S XD). They don't want to lose loyalists and the like because they know how it works so bad.

Yes keep that eyesore design. Thanks to the edge screen it looks even taller and then that ratio. At least there is no notch, not that they can put face id in there while keeping the price on a sane level.

                        Remove bixby button! Pleeaassee!

It's a perfectly fine design to keep however please have the cost saving reflect on the release price. It's very devious to release the phone with an inflated price and then six months later discount it 20-30%.

Cutting manufacturing cost does not mean less retail price it just means the price increase will be less

There's a reason iPhones design stayed the same for 4 years. Nothing wrong with that.

They mean no more rising RRP costs so bigger profit margins per note sale
