That looks better to me.
I mostly recall great chips because of the great devices they were placed in and Mate 9 was certainly one of the best Huawei devices ever made.
Don't remember that much about the older mates, as they didn't receive much spotlight in reviews.

U.S Army may have superior technology, but that's not the point. The laws of physics aren't any different for them.

r33fd, 11 Jun 2018Excuse me but where is kirin 960 ?Great question!
Huawei was playing catch up in 2016-2017 period, and they released the phenomenal Kirin 950, Kirin 955, and Kirin 960 in short succession. And remember there wasn't that big performance and efficiency differences between the three. I kind of had to make a compromise about deciding which Exynos, Snapdragon, and Kirin belong where and in which order.
I ended up with: QSD 820 < Kirin 950 < Exynos 8890 < QSD 835. Although maybe you prefer me to shuffle it to instead show something more like:
QSD 820 < Exynos 8890 < Kirin 960 < QSD 835. What do you think?

Kiyasuriin, 10 Jun 2018As per consistent preformance. I support your point. The go... moreyou're correct. in terms of AI or machine learning, Kirin 970 are magnitude ahead of SD835. I believe since SD845 still has no dedicated NPU, but rely on CPU, GPU, and DSP combined, Kirin 970 still perform well ahead of it, but I have no metric to back that up except Qualcomm and Huawei official slides.
here's Kirin 970 NPU benchmark

I'm not saying the guy you are arguing with is right (I didn't even read the comments), but statistically speaking, he's right.
Hell, there are theories out there that say the US Army has a stellar fleet!
There has to be some truth in all of this..
If you don't believe, you are too naive.

I can try and graph or state the best SoC in the Android Ecosystem every year and even every quarter, especially when it comes to those that can function within a Phablet form-factor. This eliminates SoC's like the Intel Atom Z3590, Tegra X1, and Snapdragon 810.
Here:
2009 H1: Qualcomm S1 (500MHz)
2009 H2: TI OMAP 3430
2010 H1: Qualcomm S1 (1GHz)
2010 H2: Samsung Exynos 3110
2011 H1: Nvidia Tegra 2
2011 H2: Samsung Exynos 4210
2012 H1: Nvidia Tegra 3
2012 H2: Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 (S4 Pro)
2013 H1: Qualcomm Snapdragon 600
2013 H2: Qualcomm Snapdragon 800
2014 H1: Qualcomm Snapdragon 805
2014 H2: Samsung Exynos 5433
2015 H1: Samsung Exynos 7420
2015 H2: Qualcomm Snapdragon 820
2016 H1: Huawei Kirin 950
2016 H2: Samsung Exynos 8890
2017 H1: Qualcomm Snapdragon 835
2017 H2: Huawei Kirin 970
2018 H1: Qualcomm Snapdragon 845

Fulljack, 10 Jun 2018you keep insisting that, but yet how could I believe that w... moreAs per consistent preformance. I support your point. The governor within SnapDragon 845 is excellent and gives EXACTLY the correct frequency per task.
That, is UNDENYABLE.
However. For the new fella in the platform, the Neural Processing Unit (or NPU), THIS little microcontroller that sits BESIDES the CPU, Works better for Kirin's.
You may disagree with me on here. But Anandtech thinks the same as me:
https://www.androidauthority.com/kirin-970-vs-snapdragon-845-859742/
And Apple? It's decent, about the same level as any AI chip as per running Android tasks. But in iOS, (BUILT for it) it does a good job. I cannot back up that though so feel free to disagree and wisen me

about this article: I'd Nokia 8..! for sure you know 8's hardware was really weak (according to present day) but, I'd best experience 8's music player, sound quality in earphones or 8's single speaker.. Audio or sound quality in android phones not really good yet..Snapdragon or Android..!? Symbian, at least in sound or audio quality was great..!
