That is where you get all the info and tools to properly root a phone.
Also, find out exactly what model number you own. There are many variants out there.

Bear in mind that you can root at times without unlocking the boot loader. Root means you have access to system files which means better overall control. While unlocking bootloader means the ability to load a custom ROM, which may add functions from a high-end to a lower tier, or improve performance simply by being close to stock android.

The ones who use banking App will leave the bootloader unlocked. The rest should have the choice to unlock the bootloader. Due to this reason many users will avoid Huawei.

Personal banking is a key app for people in the developed world, and now even moreso in the emerging markets as people have greater access to phones than a bank.

Less battery usage = less charging cycles = longer phone life without service.

Lower CPU speed = less heat on average use = longer battery time and longer CPU life

But yeah, TLDR people who brick their phones by not readin full instructions have a point, it's not for everyone.

Akinaro, 09 Jun 2018Stop posting disinformation, Huawei is not only company tha... moreNon valid excuses. A "normal" user will not bother (will not even KNOW) how to unlock the bootloader anyway (and it had to be done through Huwaei at the first place if I recall correctly). So I do not buy the "protecting" the bootloader for preventing the normal average user messing up with their devices.
As for the other users that like to experiment (and some of them indeed compain all over the internet): You say there still are ways to unlock/root/flash custom Roms, therefore the "curious" user WILL eventually find a way to mess with the phone ANYWAY (and of course in most cases, still complain all over the internet). Therefore the decision of forbiding bootloader unlock will not stop them. Therefore there is not a valid reason for either case.
Now, perhaps it can be minimized, yes I agree. But where are we heading now? Not only copying CrApple's designs and software, but also enforcing their unacceptable to me locking/jailing techniques? What's next?

I've made a little script that will hide the Google apps (I'm down to 4 apks for the play store) when I'm not using them. Battery life increased a lot. I also use greenify and adaway.
My stock rom comes with 275 apks. Now, including the 3rd party apps I have about 90 :)

When you know what you're doing the risk is less than it dying by dropping it accidentally on the floor.
My Xperia C outlived its non-rooted brothers by expanding the internal memory to the SD (so 6 gigs of internal as opposed to 1), while all the people who owned it with me scrapped it two years ago, I sent mine as a gift to a relative and it still functions well.

They are on top of the market together with Samsung and Apple. I don't care if you hate it cause everyone is buying it for budget reasons and not buying another Galaxy or iPhone.
                              Peace out.

I have never owned a non-rooted phone, from HTC HD2 days onward.
It pains me to upgrade because it has to be good and rootable, and with the ability to reverse root back to stock
                                Perks:
1-CPU underclocking: I usually manage 2+ hours of screen on time. So let's say I have a SD 630, the performance becomes closer to SD 430 (and more when needed) but I get the software and camera hardware of an upper midrange.
2- Better apple management: I can buy the phone I want and delete bloatware, disable Google services, and with that I get even more battery life.
There are other things, but explaining will be a hassle.

Akinaro, 09 Jun 2018Stop posting disinformation, Huawei is not only company tha... moreHey man, I'm a power user. I've been rooting and unlocking bootloaders since 2010. I KNOW what I'm talking about.
If you don't know what rooting means. then don't try it. (I'm taking about the regular user who has no clue about root and what it means). It's that easy. Also, if someone tries to root their phone and ends up bricking it, that means more money to that brand - because that person will have to go and buy a new phone. So no, it's actually not in their interest to stop that service.
In the end, Android is all about open-source software. Take that away and you might as well go buy an iPhone.

PS SONY offers FREE bootloader unlocking on their official website.

They did that to prevent people from messing with devices and then complain all over the internet that phone is not working, and its bad.

If you would actually knew/read something about it you would know that there are other ways to unlock phone, root it, or flash custom roms.
Modding is not a playing with toys, you mess with your phone and you need to know few things before you start it, and sadly right now most of people, not only owners of Huawei devices buy phones and try to root it or flash custom roms like it would be changing light bulb. Often people come to XDA forum and cry that device dont work and it turn out that they dont even know what firmware they have or what they actually download and install...

That means that every Huawei made and released from now on won't be rootable.
In other words, they don't want you to delete their spying software.

I was never a fan of replika brands, this only confirms to me that I will never buy a Huawei.
