Lol at people who have not a single inkling of an idea on the degree of complexity in the engineering and manufacturing of such a foldable display and yet are highly opinionated as if they can do anything of actual significance to technology when they obviously are incapable of even being relevant in their own tiny communities.

To put things into perspective, the Nokia 9000 Communicator was $800 in 1996. Adjusted for inflation that is just over $1300 in today's money, and it can't do nearly all the things that a modern smartphone can do.

Foldable device??? Come on, we already got the idea on Nokia 20 years ago. Now Samsung is applying the 20 year old idea on to their foldable display phone!!!!

Man, the price could be more palatable on a contract from a carrier.
It will be interesting to see how interested the carriers are, though.

Just because you can fold the phone so the cost is probably high. That's so disappointed. If they have real hologram it might worth consider $2000

It's foldable, not flexible.
Flexible phone isn't a thing yet. This is just a foldable one because of the separation in between the screens.
A flexible one is one that has no line in between; just a screen that bends.

Wow. This phone is a joke. A beta that cost a fortune. With that price, can this phone give us the power not to feel hungry within a week? This is even expensive than a real flagship tv. Pathetic!

AnonD-731363, 14 Jun 2018Man kryocera was first foldable phone just to confirm you n... moreSomebody has to buy it to try it and I liked samsung's design & technology since 2005 when I could buy my first phone, I got the F300 back then, in red, thus asking for red now.
I don't care much about who made it first , my preference is in design and samsung has a way at it in my own opinion so I'd get it for 2k if it looks nice and looks different that what's on the market currently .
Without hesitation.

Expensive for a prototype device launched to public. So the next model would definitely be better. it should be max $800
