I think that the device will be very fragile, not to mention the fact that the screen will be a hell of a scratch mess, as it would be plastic, if it is going to be a one piece truly foldable display

This is exactly what I had mentioned in GSMA and other places; my earlier comments on bendable mobiles when Samsung was showing different type of foldable mobiles. I clearly have mentioned that hinges connecting two thin metal plates(display sitting on it) reversible ways will be the way to go! Where is my R&D money?

Overpriced for something that will probably be mediocre.

Shanti Dope, 14 Jun 2018Wait for early 2024. It will cost way less, but is better ... moreYes, but with exception that this kind of device need early adopter, and if the target sale doesn't meet, they simply cancel this concept entirely, or in rare case giving it the second chance by strip down everything so they can sale at lower price and from there steadily grow and perfect it

Good work Samsung now you going to copy Kryocera which made first foldable phone back in 2011.
Whats next?
Rather spend money to reduce landfill.
Every single year you do 2-3 times more products than comunity is able to consume.
Think about environment.

CurlyBlonde, 14 Jun 2018I want it too just make it red My darling its a waste of money on a Kryocera copycat which is Samsung.
Just because one rband were unlucky with foldable design back in 2011 Samsung is going to try,
But compared to cryocera this toy cost a fortune.

Ennthusiast, 14 Jun 2018As an enthusiast , who's bored with the glass slabs that ph... moreMan kryocera was first foldable phone just to confirm you not Samsung.
Samsung just copy and paste something which has been here long time ago i think 2010 or 2011 was kryocera made.
I understand the fact kryocera gave hands of from that design after a while because noone was interested and the project with foldable phones were dicontinued.
But in case of Samsung all will be interested because compared to Samsung a Kryocera brand is unknown for 99,9% of global population.
But a 2000 price tag for a phone which real manufacturing price will be maybe 450 its just too much.
But everybody needs to move along but in this case samsung is going to hit the impenetrable wall.

Wait for early 2024.
It will cost way less, but is better in most ways.
I like to make the product get polished first before getting it.

Its no secret that flat screen is much more reliable and better for use than curved pig from Scamsung.
Its not only cost less but also s more practical and durable.
Apart from looking different curved screen have nothing to offer.
Its like having a really nice platter but as long as its empty we are hungry right?
