Anonymous, 15 Jun 2018And it runs nougat lool! Failed from thr beginning. Some users would gladly accept the trade-off.
Will it receive updates later? At that price, probably not. Is it a good phone? Yes it is.
One of my devices is still on 4.3 (padfone E) and I use it the most. It's small, has everything I need, and still runs smoothly. Some users want just that.

But the price of $333 is much acceptable for the specifications. 821 was a proven performer of those days. Even the 8GB 128GB combination is something we dont get with any phones below $350.

So a zenfone AR at less than half the price of the original? I wish I were in Taiwan :(
Price is on par with most midrangers, and even less than big names, SD 710 is close in performance, but I doubt any 710 device will have 8GB of RAM or AR-compatible depth camera.

It is actually a rebranding. The phone is the exact same Zenfone AR that announced last January 2017. The specs is indeed very 2016. Wonder why they relaunch it. Still many unsold stock? Should try decreasing the price tag more and update to Oreo. There is nothing appealing that makes people wants to buy this phone anymore in 2018. Too much has changed since 2016-style smartphone. Asus launching this ancient phone in Taiwan meanwhile neighboring China launched Vivo Nex. Tough sales.

2 years too late, but the price is decent.
