Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium sample photos pop up

A Chinese media was able to snatch a working pre-production sample and has published photo samples.

Impressive!

    Some classical Sony 'grainness' is present when pixel-peeping but overall they are best samples i have seen from this year flagships. Way to go, Sony. (Would gladly buy the device but i refuse to use spyware as OS.) (I wonder if it's possible to flash Sailfish on it....)

      These shots seem pretty much usable and extremely excellent to me tho.

        And its only 960 fps for 15 seconds. For your sake lets hope they managed to increase it to 30 seconds.

          And then there is even predictive capture for low light action shots.

          And Aube fusion with prolonged shutter, I wonder what results that can make...
          There was a shot supposedly taken with this phone at presentation, that achieved to photograph even the milky way of a night sky.

            People talking about the noise in the image should keep in mind some of the images seem to be taken in quite dark (the house one especially). These are the circumstances in which its not even possible to take a high shutter speed image with the likes of huawei and what we have here with the XZ2P are images which appear to be taken with a modeeately fast shutter (apparantin that vehicle shot). So, its still smashing the competition. Waiting for full resolution images though.

                  This is real time double sensor Aube image processing....
                  This is 10bit hdr video,
                  this is over 100000 ISO for photo and over 50000 ISO for video capture,
                  This is fhd 960fps video,
                  This is predictive photo capture,
                  This is 3D scanning tech...
                  Seems like a selective focal range for bokeh sample there also...

                  without a doubt a mobile Camera to the extreme.

                      A bit oversharpened for my taste. Not that it matters to me, i shoot with a Sony mirrorless and a Canon digital SLR. Just sayin'. Sony was never famous for their (phone) cameras, but their phone performance was always superior to everything out there.

                                Ppl here are jealous because Apple will takes years to reach this level and Samsung will work on this for Note 10 but will fail like low quality of 960fps of S9

                                  In my humble opinion... the low light images aren't really that impressive. These severely downsized teaser images that they're probably using for marketing puposes show some level of improvement in terms of Sony's image quality -- But once full rez photos are available they'll show grainier textured images (giving a semblence of sharpness) coupled along with Sony's lackluster noise suppression algorithms...

I acknowledge that, but automatic image compression usually reduces details as well as noises(as it is removing information from and resizing the image to make it smaller in physical size). If strong artifacts are visible even after the compression, that means that something is seriously wrong with the original images. And image compression doesn't produce ringing halo nor introduce color noises to a photo either.

                                        Let's see how Sony's RAW images turn out, when properly processed. Sony has lagged behind for so many years in image quality, even though their sensor unit makes great sensors.
