Kirk, 25 Jun 2018In all seriousness, this is a possible route to WW3, and I ... moreYou would side with China, a country known for mass surveilance, censorship, ip infringement, unfair business practices, executions etc. over America because it has a president you don't like for another 2 or 3 years? I think anyone doing that would be remarkably short sighted and sure they can 'support' the US in ways that don't mean direct confrontation with China etc. but what world would you want to live in come the future? A chinese hegemony would undoubtedly be worse than a US one.

Luxor, 21 Jun 2018What is wrong with Trump? Just because ZTE sold their phone... moreIn all seriousness, this is a possible route to WW3, and I don't see any countries eager enough to side with US, everybody is gonna be gunning to take out US from its world leader position.
Now, Trump being president of the most powerful country in the world isn't helping it at all, he's just swinging that power around, showing it off...
China doesn't like being looked down on.

And someone who is in this predicament should be utilising their time and skills for more important things like getting a better education or job, and not reading GSMarena and surfing the web. Wouldn't you say?

Jobless, 21 Jun 2018I'm working as a local employee in another country for ZTE ... moreNot your fault, but it is what it is. ZTE's management brought this upon you, your colleagues, and upon themselves and the whole company. Even if people will lose their jobs, banning ZTE is the correct thing to do. Again, not your fault, but it's fair for the world.

I put my word here, if ZTE is dead, so are Qualcomm, Micron, Apple, Boeing etc. standing in front a fire squad.

Jobless, 21 Jun 2018I'm working as a local employee in another country for ZTE ... moreDon't be so negative, I am sure you will find job in other company, as long as you have experience there is plenty Chinese companies not only ZTE

Well if it was agreed both parties should follow their obligations, definitely there is something bigger going on, maybe Trump has some new gameplane in mind to **** over China, I would not be surprised

I'm working as a local employee in another country for ZTE and if ZTE folds will loose my job. At my age I cannot get another job so will be on the street as a begger and my familly have to join me on the street as I'm the only bread winner. All those big shots don't care about the lower levels of labour. They earn so much money to feed more than 5 families at a time. Some of us only come by. I've worked my whole live never backed down no have to face this??

What is wrong with Trump? Just because ZTE sold their phone to Iran and North Korea this happened? Why is that so wrong? ZTE is not helping the enemy or anything. Those congress people dont want to help the economy or what? They literally on their way to destroying it.

The tension between China and US is going to be worse too. Why couldnt they just let ZTE to purchase from Qualcomm? What harm does it even do? It only brings benefit to both side. Qualcomm got the chance to make some multi million business and ZTE got to sell their phones.

With the ban ZTE only have Mediatek and Exynos to turn to for chipsets supplies. Well, at least for 7 years of that ban. US is losing their chances there. Samsung and Mediatek will be only so happy to welcome ZTE as a business partner.

Congress is stupid. Zte is going to pay the fined which is a lot of money that will help the US economy. And zte have promised to give more jobs for American citizens including the top ones. Trump have been treated unfairly by congress and its democrat cunts.

Sad but in one way that's great because the US just lost a negotiation argument against China. Cannot force them to buy more crap from the US now, as they managed to do in their negotiations to get ZTE back and running.

If they block all Chinese OEMs from buying SD chips, the winners are Samsung and MediaTek. They just need to release more chips (as in a broader choice, there is not enough Exynos models, and the present ones could use some more improvements)

It is totally impossible to trust anything the President of USA, Trump, say/promise... because he constantly contradicts himself and almost everything he say is a lie!

ZTE employs 70,000 people in 100 different countries/locations many of these jobs are in American. Add to that the loss of billions of dollars from barred component sales that will also hurt the American manufacturers of those components. Killing ZTE is a penalty that is way too severe. This is peoples livelyhoods that congress is destroying. Ban them from selling in the USA if needs be. They can survive nicely selling to the rest of the world.

Doing this favor for China will slightly calm down the tension between the two countries. Pissing off China is an extremely bad idea
