They're going back to 16:9? Oh wait...that's the XZ2 Premium.

I wouldn't mind an XZ3 with a return to metal, 16:9 and a headphone jack. I'd buy it.

marko97sx, 22 Jun 2018It's a software problem, it will fade away.Ahhh, good thing. GSMARENA really loves to start this drama.

But I doubt it will launch right after the XZ2 Premium, I mean, 2 Premiums in 1 year doesn't make sense, because the XZ2 Premium isn't even out yet, it will be in July. But if a phone is out in July, and the next Premium is announced right after it (in late August, just a month and a half after), that would be really strange, so my bet is that the next Premium will be out at MWC 2019 or IFA 2019

Geric.770, 22 Jun 2018Fix the screen issues as soon as possible. :/It's a software problem, it will fade away.

The 4K is built specifically for MEDIA, not the UI, why do you need 4K on the UI? (Plus, there is a mod to run 4K in the UI, it only requires a PC) Before you rant, think about what you have to say.

GSMA posted a screen article yest... moreI agree, GSMA really wants to start drama, maybe if they would not exaggerate the situation so much, it would not be a problem, my Xperia after a software update had it's screen slitly flashing a bit brighter, but it stopped after a few hours. So EVERYONE, calm down. It's a SOFTWARE issue, not a HARDWARE issue.

And no, what kind of fuckery will be if someone put a notch at 16:9? You didn't make any sense in your comment, no offense, really, but, think about it before you say it.

LG Superfan, 22 Jun 2018Strange resoulutionI agree, but I'll take it.

daimon, 22 Jun 2018i'm sure it will come with notchSony defense lawyer coming to rescue:

Most phones with 2:1 (18:9) screens don't have a notch, like the XZ2, Moto Z3 Play, HTC U12+ etc, but the phone with 19:9 or 19.5:9 (tf) have a notch, so we're most likely not going to see a notch.

dxyuyu, 22 Jun 2018That front view is shouting 2012 Dude, that's XZ2 Premium picture as illustration, and yes, it does have quite big border as it equipped with 16:9, not the fancy 18:9 . The real devices mentioned here (H8616 and other H86XX counterparts) doesn't have the real picture yet, so please, think before writing. As mentioned devices have similarities as XZ2 Premium, so GSMArena put the XZ2 Premium picture as a representation of H8616. If you want the real picture deal, I suggest, you need to begin patrolling at D-3 to D-7 before Sony IFA 2018 event begin. It always been that way since XZ Premium, as Sony always very strict the real picture to prevent leaking earlier than it was (well admit it, Sony sometimes comes with unexpected surprise we don't know).

And that's gonna leave H85XX empty behind between H84XX and H86XX, until there's a confirmation what H85XX gonna be. Someone said it could be a planned-tablet based leaks picture of guide in Xperia Camera files, others said it would be a new Compact flagship from Sony. But I don't know yet until the day of Sony's IFA 2018 see the broad daylight. I have a feeling H86XX is gonna be their 10th anniversary flagship of Xperia to commemorate the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 from 10 years ago. But, the same as H85XX, i don't know yet for now.

What kind of screen is 3840x1920? Isnt it should be more than 3840x2160 (4K)? Doesnt that seem like there is a notch for the standard 16:9 aspect ratio? I suspect a cutout on that screen to obtain that kind of awkward resolution. The QHD+ sounds about right at 18:9. I think this phone will be a long wait if it is Android P out of the box.
