Actually my whole point was that Samsung benifits a lot from supplying components to Apple..

They also have to factor in design and function. ie qualcomm not only designs processors but they also design radio antennas. As a matter of fact, the design processors integrated with antennas, and manufacturs like that because they can now put more things in the phone and keep it slim and sleek...

How come nobody is predicting the demise of HP, Apple, Dell, and even Samsung? Oh I get it, it's only when Apple uses it in smartphones right?
So will Sony Ericsson, HTC etc also die now since they don't make their own chips too?

There is absolutley no guarantee that Samsung would suddenly sell more devices if it stopped supplying Apple.
Apple merely has to ask other companies to tender for the contract, and if Samsung pulls the plug on Apple before their own contract is finished without a legal reason, they will be sued for massive amounts.
Supplying parts to rivals has helped Samsung become the giant it is today, and they may need to fall back on that business in the future. It's common business sense. Eggs in baskets.
