Blankman, 26 Sep 2011I'd wager good money that I'm a better business man than yo... moreIf you want to make some money, then you should supply your competition. But if you want to take over the market and dominate, then you need to eliminate your rivals.
Like i wrote before, Samsung would make ten times more profit margin and external revenue if the could disable Apple for and sell 15 million Samsung phones Apples tires customers instead of selling spare parts to Apple.
The question is, does Samsung Electronics want to dominate the market, or keep supplying Apple with spare parts for royalty and piggy change.
Someone here wrote that 4% of "Samsungs" revenue comes from Apple, which is highly unlikely. First of all, are you talking about The Samsung Group or just Samsung Electronics? They are seperate.
Samsung Mobile is a subsidiary to Samsung Electronics and have their own revenue. Samsung Electronics is itself a subsidiary to The Samsung Group.
The Samsung Group also has Samsung Life Insurance, Samsung Heavy Industries and Samsung C&T etc. Not only Samsung Industry.
Samsung Electronics does not for instance include profit from other Samsung Electronic divisons in their handset reports, like Apple does.
Apple put together the sale of MacBooks, Ipods, iPhones and accessories to the profit report. Which is kind of lame. If Samsung Elctronics added all profits of TV, MP3, Phones, BluRay, PC's etc then Apple profits would look like a pebble in the sea.

What message would Samsung send out, if they had a hissy fit and refused to make products for one of it's customers?
Of course, if you hate Apple and are a Samsung fanboy, then you won't listen to common sense, and make up rubbish like the "Reality Distortion Field"
Lol XD

Why should Samsung just give up manufacturing for Apple? It's good business sense.
Many successful manufacturers produce goods for rival companies.

TechnoFreak, 26 Sep 2011Actually 4% is not less when you consider Samsung's other t... moreI didn't say the 4% sales of Samsung components to Apple was less than anything. I just pointed out it was a minor fraction of total revenue. I imagine it would be an even smaller percentage of profits....
A few questions. does Apple sell anything to Samsung? Does Apple assemble anything themselves?
It seems like Apple's business plan is to outsource all production activities. This produces schedule and quality vulnerabilities with one's web of providers. It also allows one to ignore one's manufacturer's business practices.

Anyway,
Isn't it normal for Apple products to have some 'delay' or issue that might mean that supply is not large enough to meet demand?
I think after this many times it's a bit more plain to see that it's a marketing hype - there probably isn't a real shortage/problem with the supplier.
Deja vu time!

They open here a new Apple Store, they have over 50+ iPads, in one week they sold ALL iPads and almost out of iPods....people are waiting iPhone 5...
Even are hard to find in retails like BestBuy or CompUSA, they only make orders BUT almost no stock on stores.
So?? Apple stills in sales lead here, even with all the manufacturers together can beat tha sales number in just one brand... hurt to the heaters!!!
