And if you didn't need it then guess what. It doesn't make it ok for them to charge you for it.
Nothing in the device is even close to being worthy of such a price. It's rugged. But 1400...or actually probably more like $1550 worth of rugged.
And it's so sad people like you defend companies for such ridiculous moves allowing it to continue.

Now, I just wish that the warm-swappable battery feature comes to lg. slap this feature to midrange device and people will come and buy it. Though their mid range is kinda lousy

$1600 is still cheaper than previous panasonic rugged handheld models, they were starting from $2000.. although the cpu is quite disappointing but as long as this handheld can get their things done, then its alright. What do you need from this handheld anyway? running PUBG with 60fps?

The low spec is necessary to keep heat generation to a minimum as that dictates the maximum operating temperature and all the protection makes it hard to get rid of heat.
Many years ago I accidentally sold the idea of a ruggedised handheld computer to a NATO force when the one we were using for some field trials got accidentally run over by a tank. Wash the mud off, it was fine.

For that price I can buy a barcode reader and a decent phone.
I can get an entry-level device, wrap it in silicone and glue, it will become watertight, rugged, will look as ugly, and it will still cost a fraction of the price, but with better performance.

Ybsplite joke right? I mean it is supposed to do some stuff quick and fast at working environment and be indistructable, but SD 210 is anything but fast, wow, insane price for what you get, S8 active is way better option

The market for these phones is not the same as those targeted by the likes of S7 phones.
And I do not think you need to be plain clothed or work on those environments that are -10C or 50C without safety clothing.
Or it could also mean that -10C up to 50C were the range of temperatures that this device can withstand during their qc/testing phase.

Or those that got dropped mere centimeters above the floor or table and suffered breakage.
