So they will no longer throttle their cpu speeds ?

Bought the p20 pro against my usual choices of the latest and greatest SOC which this time round is beyond any doubt the 845 (i don't deal with crapple so don't give me that A core crap)

The 845 can render pretty much anything at peak speed and it's apparently pretty cool too, so i didn't have much hope for the Kirin, but with that being said it absolutely smoked my PSP tests, able to run tekken 6 at a full 60fps which is native, zelda on the gamecube at it's native 30fps, so the kirin isn't any slouch as it is.

So if this GPU boost? Not sure how that's going to work adds anything at all, then it'll probably put it in line with the 845 to a certain point, maybe not benchmarks but in real world tests like PSP and Gamecube emulators, i think it'll do very well.

Good to see them seeing an issue.

Apple A series was destroying Kirin 960 from few generations back like all of the Android chipsets, sd 821 exynos 8890, was much faster than 960 Kirin, the only Kirin chipset which can compete with last year's chipset 835 and exynos 8895 is Kirin 970, it obviously has no chance against exynos 9810 and 845 not even mentioning Apple A10 or higher, can't believe people comment not knowing anything about chipset like they know everythinh

It even beat Apple's chip in some multi-core tests. Huawei just wasn't interested in power this time. They wanted to do the NPU thing.

Hockeybro13, 24 Jun 2018Very confused as to how they more then doubled performance ... moreActually, they have hold a small media conference explaining the basic idea of this technology. As we know, the difference between two adjacent frames is likely to be very small. GPU turbo will enable the GPU to only render the different part of the adjacent frames, thereby achieving the result they claimed. As for how it recognizes the difference between two frames, they didn't say anything.

Resolution tweak, downscale and boom higher fps.

Very confused as to how they more then doubled performance simply in the software, no details noted either and the link is all in Chinese. Not saying fake news but it's nearly impossible to do what I just read here. But who knows, maybe huawei has a breakthrough or they were just throttling their devices due to lack of optimization? Who knows, all I know is that this doesn't seem legit to me at all and I want more details as to how they did this

--VM--, 24 Jun 2018Performance =cost You do not get it. Just think about it; they advertise a 60% boost in performance. Not only that, but also a 30% reduction in power consumption.

Now, that kind of magic is only possible with either some huge structural changes or an intentionally underperforming system. And those structural changes require a new architecture or a die shrink. For a 60% boost and 30% more efficient SoC, that requires both. And I don't think Huawei can make a die shrink OTA.

Thank g0d i switch to huawei, no regrets.

A +60% boost on graphics performance may sounds overpromising, since they only change and modify some system files in order to achieve the so-called boost. They should learn from Lenovo Z5's disaster before doing such trick.
