Turns out, you can get around Apple's anti brute force measure on an iPhone quite easily.

ChronoRad, 23 Jun 2018You suck at math dude, 6 digits equals 152k combinations an... moreWouldn't 6 digits have 1,000,000 possible combinations considering a range of 000000-999999? Rest of your comment is correct. Taking an average of 5 seconds per attempt for a 6 digit code to process (presumably longer than its 4 digit counterpart), we arrive at a figure of 60×60÷5 = 720 attempts per hour (GSMArena's figure of 100 attempts per hour is way off). It'd take 1,000,000/720 = 1388.88 hours, or 1388.88/24 = 57.87 days to successfully brute force every possible combination. Though, practically speaking there is no need to brute force to the last possible combination. The average passcode is likely to lie somewhere around the middle, cutting the time required into half i.e 57.87÷2 = 28.93 days.

A 6 digit code using the numbers 0-9 where you can repeat numbers would give 10 possible numbers for each digit giving you 10x10x10x10x10x10 or 10^6 = 1,000,000 possible answers.

If each number had to be unique then you come up with 152k combinations eg. 10x9x8x7x6x5 = 151,200

as we know you can repeat numbers on an iOS password so its 1 million different combinations.

Each taking 3 seconds is 3,000,000 seconds divided by 86,400 (number of seconds in a day) equals 35 days
