suarez92, 24 Jun 2018How about Face Unlock update for Mate 10 Pro ???? Nothing ... moreWhat? Even my old Mate 9 has gotten updates pretty much monthly. I have the May patch now, got the OTA on June 12th of this month.

suarez92, 24 Jun 2018How about Face Unlock update for Mate 10 Pro ???? Nothing ... moreHave you tried clicking on the "Check for Updates" from time to time? I'm already on the May Security update. Update availability times are probably carrier and country dependent you know. And often you need to install earlier patches before you get to the latest updates. You can always try the "Firmware Finder" if you want the latest updates, but you're installing them at your own risk.

Still better than Samsung and LG though in terms of updates: Android P will likely get released first before you get Oreo on your last year's flagship Samsung and LG phone. lol.

Personally don't see the need to go to stock Android right now. My P10 is on EMUI 8.0 and is virtually lag-free except for some stupid upoptimized (and poorly coded) apps (that's the fault of the developer), seeing as EMUI is optimized for those Kirin SoCs. I also like some of the features like raise to wake screen, automatic and on-demand resource recycling and the face unlock feature which works pretty reliably except in almost zero lighting (which is obvious because it's not like the iPhone X's face unlock which has a flood illuminator for dark conditions). Unless stock Android comes up with the same features, no reason for me to go to stock Android.

How about Face Unlock update for Mate 10 Pro ????
Nothing about that, Im stuck in MARCH SECURITY UPDATE???

Well its a good move stock android is much better than UI of brands because a lot of useless bloatware where any third party program downloaded from android store can cover and bloatware preinstalled by UI.

Oh look! The Mate 10 Lite and Honor 7x of August 2017 are already on Oreo with Project Treble support!
Xiaomi, what the hell r u doin??!! My Redmi 5 Plus of December 2017's still on Nougat and May 5 2018 security patch! Like wth?! And you haven't even announced the date of release for MIUI 10 Global Stable ROM on our devices, making it possible to be released next year instead.

AOSP ROMs are usually the closest to stock.

I think the openkirin team should focus more on unlocking the bootloader ATM.

LineageOS, Resurrection Remix OS and CarbonOS aren't vanilla Androids at all. The same skinned Android as EMUI. But not that optimized.

Hope another OEMs do this too.

Huawei doing something good I guess. EMUI is already good too. Not sure if anyone complaining about it and wanting a vanilla android instead. Nevertheless, hope it is not buggy. Good luck installing for anyone thinking about it.

Stock - no cheesy features, and gives you the best performing UI.
EMUI - one of the fastest custom Android UI I've ever tested, and has Samsung like features.

You get more functionality out of the box at the expense of slightly less raw performance and using an iOS-ish interface. But the performance is usually better than stock which has third-party apps to add the same functionality.

He has a P10, and he doesn't want to change the interface because he is already in love on EMUI. XD
