There's also the advantage of notch such as being "secondary screen" (something like LG V20) which show the battery and signal bar.

Battery backup of Redmi 5 Plus or devices like these are not a joke. 8-10 hours of screen time on a smartphone is not a joke. Actually quite extraordinary.
Me be you have an unreasonable level of expectation. And calling it a "Pro" is just to separate it from normal 6/6A.
SD625 is used for keeping the price as low as possible. Because they have to give 4000mAh battery with a decent dual camera.
Overall a decent device I think. But if anyone is using a Note 5 pro/AI/ or even 5 Plus, it wouldn't be a great upgrade though.

I also have the Redmi 5 Plus on MIUI 9.6.2.0, and battery life has been nothing short of stellar.
I watched 3 episodes of B99 using 4G data continuously, and I only lost approximately 10% battery, and that is taking into the fact that every episode is 22 minutes long.

Front camera better not be 5MP again
Already disappointed at microUSB, no need to make it worse in other areas. Cameras should be better this time, and fix the microphone quality like you did on the Note 5 Pro / Note 5 Global (apparently they took that long to fix it, and even then my Redmi 5 Plus is also plagued by the same problem).

1. This is not a Note Pro... moreNot just "not a note pro", there's hardly actually "pro" about it. Design - lame and totally anti-pro, cpu - ancient. Battery is "decent" (By today's standards...i have na Redmi 5 plus and the battery is a joke if you use it with 4G), but still, not exactly a "pro"-sized.
The dedicated SD slot is the only exception and a good surprise - definitely a must for a "pro" device/user. But that's just not enough.

Arif238, 25 Jun 2018Can you give a reason that why there is a notch when there ... moreI'd really recommend you go and check out MKBHD's recent vid on the smartphone chins, but if you want a short answer, it's because of the connections to the display are located at the bottom, and how apple managed to get rid off it was to bend the display inwards itself, that's why the price went up as it's not a easy process👍

Sd625 is soon for museum with his old a53 cores and 14nm process. No a.i. really and does not sell for that cheap. Cheaper and same will be SD450. Much better be SD636 almost same price better gpu, better features.

The whole reason for putting a notch is to achieve higher screen to body ratio. If you have to put a notch then don't put a bezel at bottom and if you have to put bezel then don't put a notch at all. Otherwise what is the point?

The real retail unit may have a bit more polished software and differences. Most early unboxing videos are usually like that. They always using non-retail unit. Sales beginning June 26 onwards and that is only in China, not even outside China yet.
