Arguments aside ..NO ONE CAN DISPUTE that the RRPs are "problematic" and that's putting it mildly.It's the same WP7 global launch RRPs fiasco all over again, pitting things against middle to top end Androids and iPhone 4.WP7 areb't even making the numbers right now pre-Mango FREE ON CONTRACT!Even RIM by now have learned from their past juvenile Torch 9800 mistake by not repeating the same with all of their latest BB OS 7 phones.Even if those comes with guaranteed obsolescence, it's about USD100-150 lower than before.
You don't put out the N9 as the last beautiful tears farewell to MeeGo and do remember folks that when you put your money on this phone, you ultimately pay to save MeeGo not Nokia.
Just recently Intel demoed Android on a Medfield tablet.That's a large neon lined glaring sign of the apparent ease to set aside some time porting Android in time for that demo when all these time we though that they're doing "something" about MeeGo.Not good.I'll say it again it's not looking good for MeeGo.

Batterylife on S2 is just as good as any other phone today, it is actually better than most and my old Symbian N97 mini have a lot worse batterylife! If you update S2 to 2.3.5 then batterylife is even better! You do not yet know anything about the batterylife on N9, lets wait and see!
2. There are many not expensive offline navigation software to buy on the Android Market that are a lot better than "Nokia/Ovi maps".
3. S2 have Super Amoled Plus!
4: S2 camera is one of the best cameras, this have been proved in very many reviews!
4.S2 models will have NFC support when there is any point in having NFC on your phone, because today you have very little use for NFC! NFC on N9 will only be another pointless specs that most buyers will never ever use! NFC is atleast 1 year from becoming really usable in most countries!
5. And iPhone is a "copy" of touchscreen-phones that were released before the first iPhone! Every car have 4 wheels, but if Apple sometime in the future starts to make cars then Apple will copy and "patent" this 4-wheel-design and then try to make every other 4-wheel-car illegal if they are not made by Apple! N9 is more expensive than S2, and MeeGo-development will depend on mostly teens around the world that "develop" during late nights and on weekends, while Microsft do not allow Nokia to make MeeGo better than the useless WP7 is, will be, NOkia will not support/develop/update N9 at all after the initial release becasue Microsoft demand that all focus must be on WP7!

if nokia N9 is a hit, will investors block sales? will they let Elop to put Nokia even lower? coz the risk is before WP7 or WP8 gets popular as android an will bring real money to the company, Nokia can be .... well will see!
btw. im in UK and will try to get this any way. black with 16 gig is enough to me ;)
i like galaxy SII too, but N9 is really unique.

Do you even know what are you talking about??? Usually if you are already here, you know that N9 is going to be good.
Here is what i9100 does not have that Nokia HAS!!!
1. i9100 Battery life is horrible N9 guranteed to be twice as better or even more.
2. True offline GPS free navigation maps that are build in.
3. Display i9100: 480 x 800 pixels, 4.3 inches (~217 ppi pixel density)
Nokia N9: 480 x 854 pixels, 3.9 inches (~251 ppi pixel density)- Anti-glare polariser
4. Samsung i9100 Camera simply SUCK! Nokia N9 has- Carl Zeiss optics...
4. NO NFC SUPPORT, or Optional, I have not found model with NFC for i9100 and I looked hard. Nokia N9 has NFC support STANDARD...
5. Samsung is a bad COPY of iphone, all cheap plastic, Nokia N9 ORiginal design, great durable perfect mobile device experience, a true innovation...
That is enough for me to say that Nokia not only wins but is the best device in the world that we know of...

N9 has been dropped by all carriers in Switzerland in favour of WP and Android phones! :-( I still hope some online shops will provide it.

This is a flagship model with a new OS that boasts an innovative UI which is probably going to be imitated in numerous ways in years to come. It has a camera that is only rivalled by N8 and a beautiful original design in a rock solid construction. Plus innovative screen tech. Do you expect all this to retail for less? Street prices of older models aside -should be obvious- this is what flagship models cost. Deal with it.
Why all this hostility towards the device? People usually root for the underdog and N9 is the underdog in every which way. It's the peoples phone. Import it if it isn't available, buy the SGS2 if you're fanatic about, but why troll N9?
And excuse me but what is it with the overhype of dualcore? Do we realise that Gingerbread(FYI Android for phones) doesn't even support multicores, Samsung's proprietary software allows the use of the other core here and there, but no app can use two cores. Most of the speed difference between SGS and SGS2 is probably down to the forementioned 16-year-olds whom hacked SGS' filesystem. The funny bit about all this is that N9 actually excels in multitasking.
More ridiculously, why would you need to watch 1080p videos with a phone? I doubt you realise that 1080p is 1920x1080 pixels.
As reported, N9/MeeGo is smooth as vanilla ice with the hardware it has. So what if manufacturers of Android phones need to put different hardware in their devices? Shouldn't you be complaining to Samsung/ZTE/Whatever to put a proper OS on their phones?
When it comes to developers, Maemo/MeeGo has one of the most dedicated communities out there. Geeks love it for it's openess, and this is the kind of developers you wan't your apps to be developed by. The predecessor N900 is still going strong, and is probably the only phone from it's era that still stacks up against the phones of today.
As per sales figures go, N900 didn't mean to sell much and it didn't, but it still sold more than expected. N8 ment to sell a lot and has sold a lot more than that. No, N9 won't sell nowhere near as well as something like SGS. N9 is something completely different.

Why should be the price a problem? As far as I know, iphone and galaxy sII are even more expensive (if not bounded to a network), and no one complains. They still buy those phones. So, I'll take mine :)
