most of you are worried about timing with v20 what about lg g5 owners at least you have a date ....but what about us .... I used to be paying attention to updates and stuffs but now im not as long as the phone works fine in every single aspect I don't care .... besides most of us use the devices for same stuff casual gaming... sms, calls browsing and youtube the same things you can do even on a old jelly bean device .... same stuff you can do with a sd 400 processor ...I have a moto g 1st gen in lollipop 5.1 and it works just fine I gave it to my daughter and it has no issues not a single application and battery last long .. so ... the os is old yes but ... are you being block from apps because of old android version as far as I know ice ream sandwich was the last banned for support and talking about specs a phone with that version has from few MBS - 1gb of ram and has from 1-2 cores .... im sure that all of you asking for updates and speed don't keep them.

I think the V20 will be the last LG product I buy. I'm so disappointed that my V20 is still on a 2017 security patch. This is meant to be a flagship- LG have treated their customers with contempt.

Trump Fan 1980, 30 Jun 2018 Hello everyone. My guess is that a V20 equipped with 8.0/8... moreIt's possible.
However, the device has a decent-sized 3200mAh battery, a quite efficient QSD 820 inside, and a surprisingly efficient LCD-IPS panel. There's a reason why many Samsung NOTE 4 users upgraded to this handset in 2016.
Oh, and did I mention this is the BEST phone (and likely last) out there that has a REMOVABLE BATTERY featured ???

This is funny Nokia giving android P to its devices already and LG starts with Oreo.
This stupid company should really go out of bussiness.

Lg is the worst mobile phones company when it comes to after-sale-service, we should've been now on Oreo 8.1,It seem you care less about reputation and service-backed products.

LG is a very bad company
1. 10 months wait for system update?
2. There is no Updates
3. There is no customer service to many problems and bugs
I will never buy LG

Luxor, 30 Jun 2018Almost 2 years to finally receive a real upgrade from Nouga... moreYep, I have my v20 and it's a good phone but a couple hard ware niggles (screen retention) getting very hot at times and the DAC not adjusting to high impedance mode properly is annoying. This will be my last LG phone and next year I'm jumping ship. Unless they can prove their phones have no major faults and a steady fast and consistent upgrade schedule (like Nokia) I won't bother with LG again unless it's in pixel guise. Also this thinq incremental models is total bs and a middle finger to the original v30 owners. Not to mention they're another notch following manufacturer, let's hope they at least keep the 3.5mm jack in the future.
As a major manufacturer and brand, they're terrible. Newer companies like Nokia are way better at updates. LG need to re-evaluate what they think sells phones, it's not ai gimmicky features, it's having a phone which will get fast updates and runs smooth.

Hello everyone. My guess is that a V20 equipped with 8.0/8.1 willl exhibit lackluster battery life. What do you think?

And that's exactly why the V20 is my last LG phone. They release a year old version of Android, when the next one is just around the corner. If it's not enough, they don't even make security updates (the last one for 990DS is from 2017). And of course, there are several hardware flaws too.

JohnW1981, 30 Jun 2018So V20 owners will have to wait almost 2 years from launch ... moreThe manufacturer is busy pushing new models out to the public, just like everyone else. Currently clearing out v30 models to make way for the incrementally upgraded v30 thinQ whatever.
Public also share the blame for falling to a new model even if theirs are still working.

Anonymous, 30 Jun 2018Dear LG,
If this Oreo update is planned obsolescence in d... moreCareful there. We are not sure how this will end up. Besides, they will still be called out for Planned obsolence should they leave the v20 at Nougat.
To give you an alternative anecdote, MSFT repeatedly blue screen our 2009 laptop due to that FREE Malware ehrrm Windows 10 upgrade keylogger edition.
The manufacturer issued a statement about Win10 not compatible but idiots at microsoft insist my Windows 7 machine can run 10. They kept pushing it and UNHIDING the update and I spent more than a year trying to stop that crap.
So diff strokes, diff folks.

Dear LG,
If this Oreo update is planned obsolescence in disguise, causing lags, stutters and battery drain to the unlocked H990DS V20, don't even think of releasing it. Leave the V20 with Nougat forever. 'PLANNED OBSOLESCENCE' in smartphones and other electronics devices need to STOP. Updates to software shouldn't cause worse performance. New phone releases shouldn't remove the sd card slot or shorten screen life/battery life, or seal the battery with no after sales support for easy replacement years after its release.
My 2010 intel core i3 550 PC with 4GB of RAM had Windows 7 Home upon purchase and it had traditional 5400rpm hard drive. Five years later, (2015), I updated FOR FREE to Windows 10 first build, version 1507. The performance improvement in speed, fluidity, responsiveness and start up and restart times was amazing! It was like a completely brand new, more powerful PC. A storage upgrade from HDD to SSD and a RAM upgrade from 4GB to 8GB made it even faster! Fast forward to additional 3 years later (now, in 2018), after more Windows 10 build updates (it's currently now on build version 1803), it's even snappier and more fluid than ever with even faster, slicker animations. That's 8 long years without signs of slowing down or deterioration and it just kept on improving with newer Windows 10 updates! If that's at all possible with an 8 year old PC with old DUAL CORE Intel core i3 550 processor, why is it so difficult to keep 1-2 year old quadcore/hexacore/octacore/decacore android flagships to do the same after updates?
PLANNED OBSOLESCENCE. It's not just a byword. It's REAL! Let us be aware of it and lobby governments and consumer groups to pass STRICT LEGISLATION/REGULATION against it.

Almost 2 years to finally receive a real upgrade from Nougat. I guess there is no chance for Android P for V20. Oreo is good enough. Im sure V20 users will start looking for a new phone next year.

a2willia, 30 Jun 2018They actually supported the V10 well. It did get 2 major up... moreOh. Well sorry for making that mistake. But dropping a flagship after such a small time is quite infuriating
