Many keep saying HTC should cut their executives because they are the one making decision. But, as you guys said, 'the one making decision' already decide not to fire themselves. Lol. Instead all the brilliant mind are flushed away from HTC. Thats is very typical asian culture. Only want to keep their power and money. I can only imagine how many stubborn old people in that company with long history.

That's genuinely sad. But then again, at least those workers will now have a chance to be employed by a company that actually learns and grows.

When I worked in phone shop, HTC was the one to die before 24 months after purchase if not sooner. I'm not surprised. When they started to copy Apple design with mediocre battery and high price, one could see it ain't going too far.

I really do feel sorry for HTC. HTC Desire was my first ever Android device and I loved it a lot. Wish they would have change the whole executive department and replace them with people who would have actually been able to put together the same high quality device at a price that is justifiable (I know they're not the ones making, but they're the ones making decisions). Wish they would have make better promotions and advertisements, though it might be too late now.

The thing stands up against any other device this year. Can you imagine the wasted man hours in those capacitive buttons? What an absolute waste of time.

They added a feature that was not ready, plain and simple. They stuck to a battery hogging screen, but reduced the size of the battery, when nobody was claiming stellar life from the 4000mA. Any company that reduces the size of a battery deserves all they get. They say the buttonless buttons are more reliable. I have never had a volume button fail, in 20yrs of phones. But, I have always wanted the longest lasting bang for my buck. HTC got a few bits wrong with the u11+, and then made some bits worse. Bizarre.

I love htc smartphones but i hate some of their latest decisions.
- no jack (I personal don't bother about that, but they lost lots of loyal costumers because of that)
- screen still lcd (again i don't bother with that, but people wants oled in high end devices (better battery life). i don't see any investing in this area.
- worst marketing department in the world. just look what huawei did in few years..and what htc did...
- no true stereo device in latest flagship when they were king few years ago.
- glass devices, really? htc 10 was built like a tank, i miss that. i prefer that to shiny phones that i'm afraid of dropping it every time i pick it.
- going no keys to get easier ip68 rating but with bad implementation. if you can't do it right..dont do it..is simple as that. take your time and put in the market when ready.
if htc doesn't invest in some key areas will die, period. just fire the decision makers in the companie, they are ruining it.

I don't know if there's any other OEM in this world that has been so good to their Customers like Nokia, they sold good and durable phones at the right price, updates came very often and you never had to worry about any battery problem.
Although nowadays' phones have good performance, they're too expensive, why should anyone spend over 900 € for one phone?
When the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 was launched it cost 1009€, today 10 months later it costs less than 800 €, and I'm sure it'll even cost less after the Note 9 is out. Why didn't they sell it less than 800€ at launch?
And it is the same thing for the other phones, Apple, Sony, HTC and all the rest. And you can even use those craps for over a year without a decrease in battery performance.

My first HTC phones were HD2 and HD mini. Both were magnificent pieces of art. Had a short experience with hero, legend, wildfire, desire HD, and evo 3D. Each of them was unique in a way. But then they were outrun by the competition because bad decisions kept piling up.
I hope they start doing what they did before, leading innovation.

Base on my experience with the U11, l would shed no tears for HTC. I've already reset that to factory settings and retired it for good.
