There's even some apps on the Android market that have malicious scripts built in and Google was forced to remove those apps after people complained. In short, even the apps on the market can have malwares built in since Google doesn't test those apps.

Android is open source so anyone can write a virus for it and that's what those companies selling Anti-virus on the market are doing. They are writing viruses specially written for Android and sell you their anti virus. Android is a scammer's paradise.

Back on topic, this is why Android (Google) were annoyed, because a lot of bugs etc being introduced are caused by third party UI's... NOT android.

If all phones were using stock android... im sure pretty much most of the issues like this would go. Samsung, HTC etc pump the phone full of bloatware. Many users switch to other ROMs to escape this issue.
