09 July 2018
It's called Memory, has a gameshow vibe, and it's all about remembering passwords.

Very funny! Usually it annoys me the ads but this one is really good. It shows the simplicity of unlocking your iPhone X with Face ID.

Perfect ad for you if you are typical idio×. Thanks apple for pointing it out

I find it amusing that the same day we find out about this ad, we also find out that apple will stop production of the iPhone X

Fayth, 10 Jul 2018you just waste 1' 38'' of your life :)Not really. I've never been an Apple fan but I do appreciate watching Apple's ads through the years. The one above about the iphone X is just poorly made. Here's a good one (an old ad for the iPhone 5s): https://youtu.be/a9u7l-yE1ec

It's possible the OLED was to blame, however, I sincerely doubt it, as I've had many OLED phones over the years and never had eyestrain. (HTC Nexus One, Samsung Galaxy Nexus, Samsung S4, Note 4, Pixel XL 2, Pixel 2, none caused eyestrain). If the Apple iPhone X OLED implementation turned out to be the cause I would submit that's the problem, but I seriously doubt it considering OLED has always been ok for me personally.

You see, i don't have anything against face ID per se , but i can't stand the arrogance of Apple that says "fingerprint? fuck it, it's so mainstream let's remove it altogether with something different" . They could have left the finger print sensor but no, like the 3.5" jack greed and arrogance took over to tell you, consumer how you should interact and use a device and that you can't have both.

This is not about security, but about speed, the extra cost of installing faceid is worth it

Whist fingerprints prevent a phone from being opened if stolen, the ease of access was shown in the latest season of Homeland. The compromised FBI agent whilst drugged, his unconscious finger was placed on the fingerprint scanner and Carrie Matheson accessed his iPhone

If all it takes is your face then how is that an improvement,

All you have to do is lock the phone after a certain number of wrong attempts, only lazy people use their birthday

Long overdue is non removable sim cards, like CDMA networks which need the phone to be activated, removing the sim card prevents anti theft commands to be issued, or the phone to be traced

I only have one password which is the root,
Several of the letters are capitalized, others not, there are numeric and special character.

Some you can set up two step verification, online banking after you open the account , there is a second step which require entry of usually 3 items of the user defined password
So two steps i.e two passwords

Blackberry 10 failed attempts the phone is wiped, Microsoft wrong attempts means longer intervals before you can try again

                              Here's looking at you

The problem with fingerprint and facial ID is the same assumption that they never change. I'm not saying that this is a general rule, but faces could changes drastically if one loses or gains too much weight or performs surgery (elective or emergency) and fingers might get deep cuts that alter the fingerprint. Without other means of unlock, one might get locked outside his phone.

Again, not a general rule, but I always think that the best lock is not leaving your Phone where others can have access to it/steal it.

I wonder what one can do if he needs to change the old password? :P Face ID still works there? or he has to remember his old password?
