Mind you, the original Tab S had a 16:9 ratio which MANY people are SATISFIED as they can watch videos on the go without the ANNOYING BLACK BARS. I have experienced it myself and it was GREAT.

RazrFlip, 11 Jul 20184:3 isn't puny, whatever else it is. I far prefer it thank ... moreAgree. 16:10 is a terrible tablet form-factor unless you only use it for widescreen video. Sad that Samsung has reverted back to it. Oh well, money saved.

I looked at the keyboard cover for my Tab S3, and it was rubbish. Flimsy, didn't stay closed.
I use the fingerprint reader all of the time and sure hope Samsung do something better, as it is poor at recognising. I've retrained several times, but it cannot cope with thumbs or second fingers. It just about recognises first fingers about 3/4 of the time. The one on my Huawei Mate 9 (no front buttons at all) is, in contrast, brilliant. I don't trust face recognition unless it is 3D. I'm not keen on iris recognition unless they have improved it significantly on what is out there now.

Anonymous, 11 Jul 2018Is Samsung PUSHING you to only use Iris Scanner on Tab S4?!... more4:3 isn't puny, whatever else it is. I far prefer it thank you very much. It suits every other use of a tablet except for video, and I can't say I notice the bars on the few short ones that I do watch on it - which maybe take up 1% of the time I spend on it.
I've got a widescreen TV for video, not a puny 10 inch tablet, that would be even worse if the tablet was video dimensions.

Might be.. But man are they costly.. After buying such a premium device.. Basically the costliest tablet device on an average market i really wouldn't want to be spending more on apps.. Atleast not until i try them before hand.. Android app ecosystem maybe lacking but the ad based app system helps a lot

Is Samsung PUSHING you to only use Iris Scanner on Tab S4?! What about Fingerprint Sensor, is it that hard to put it on the POWER BUTTON at least instead given the size of the Tab S4?! Good that Tab S4 is 16:10 (FINALLY not copying iPad aspect ratio once and for all) which seems to be a worthy upgrade over the original Tab S which people WANT and PREFER due to more content being displayed (no black bars), as compared to puny 4:3 (Tab S2 & Tab S3) which has the annoying black bars while watching videos. Sad for the IR Blaster removal which is present on Tab S although it is not big of a deal because the Peel Remote app which is preinstalled on Tab S is essentially nagware.

AnonD-762416, 11 Jul 2018Yeah, there seem to be a darkish third "hole" on the front,... moreIt better be an iris scanner. Without fingerprint sensor, I was thinking the cheapest solution would be face unlock. But that will make people think twice to buy this tablet. Unless some people are contented with just traditional password.

Can you imagine the pain, having to rotate your tablet in portrait position when unlocking your phone, the re-rotating it in landscape? Now add the attached keyboard.

Robbie, 11 Jul 2018Maybe a note 8 style iris scannerYeah, there seem to be a darkish third "hole" on the front, near the mic. Probably the IR light for the iris scanner.
