It's better for high res pictures and videos, way better for vr and yes that matters to many, and let's take a notch from your comment for the finally. The note 4. The note 4's 5.7 inch Quad HD super bright amoled display was more power efficient than all the 4.7-5.2 inch dimmer lcds. Even even they were running 1080p or 720p.
With the efficient chips we have now and the ability to CONTROL AND CHANGE THE RESOLUTION AT WILL ON THE DEVICE.... You're not evergreen using your brain if you comparing about it

If you're gonna pay $1k on a phone it should at least have 4500mAh battery, 3000mAh is so 2015.
If I were to choose from S9+ and Note 8, I'd buy S9+ with a pen, it's more practical.

A large screen
Cameras
A button or two
Charging port
Microphones speaker
And many more
The more necessities you list, the less there will be ergonomically sound designs. We shouldn't be surprised at the similarities between phones.

Now the Blue Tooth connection is just stupid in my opinion. Another power draining "feature" allowing people to just be lazy with.
Samsung wants to make a "business class phone"? Drop the edge screens, go back to at least a 16:9 ratio, put some bezels back back on there to protect the screen, and dump the super high res stuff.
The normal human eye can't see above 1080p so anything above that is just draining battery.
The Note 4 was the last, best of the Note series. After that they are just overpriced breakable glass toys for spec-chasing children with more money than brains.

Phone -> Phone+
Galaxy S2 -> Galaxy S3
Galaxy S4 -> Galaxy S5
Galaxy S6E+ -> Galaxy S7E
Galaxy S8(+) -> Galaxy S9(+)
This year we will get Phone+ so innovations will come next year.

I think that this is not what the official color will be. It's just showing off two of the colors next to each other. The blue will have a blue pen, and same with the yellow.

Well, if you prefer matching colors, better find your note-friend with same colored pen as your phone. May be also that you will got an option to choose different color when buying, that would be interesting.
Not to mention, if its golden coating, you may not want to change that. :)
