Well,i am not too sure Symetric Multi Processor is the way to go for mobile phones.
I think that asymmetric multi processor, with each processor optimised for one thing that it does correctly and efficiently,is a much better approach.
The main processor should just have power saving capabilities like mobile version of PC CPU have.

Sounds great, but people working in the mobile and embedded industry know, it is not gonna happen anytime soon. Right now, the multicore technology is not yet mature. at least, not yet close to consumer usage.

Using multicores will be the biggest hit in the processing with the merits of increased bettery life, efficient use of each core, required weightage to each application, quick outcomes and major of all, personal satisfaction of using the most advanced technology.
