fantastic idea but it only beats apple and Samsung if there is a clean OS ,I think for that they should work with SMARTISAN cuz it is the best ANDROID os that I have ever worked ,come on light ,,try to be the best ….you can if you want

I bought their old phone. Trust me its not worth it. Their software is pretty bad. most of these days people are selling on their ideas without any finished products.

A smartphone with 9 camera's would have to be ridiculously big. Fitting 9 camera's, all the electronics AND a battery that would last you the day would be pretty difficult to do.
I like the design concept though, kinda pixel-like with the dualtoned back.

9 cameras? stop it..
a sensor that is a little bit bigger than current sensor smartphone, a f/0.95 variable aperture lens and variable physical zoom is enough for blurring background in portrait and better light for low light photo.
i myself really hate touching camera lens, i dont like to wipe every time i want to take picture.
imagine taking care of 9 cameras to not touching it..
tbh the fake 'portrait mode' blur made by 2 camera is by any mean looks fake
my suggestion is 2 camera:
1) ultra wide angle camera like in LG
2) normal camera that has PERISCOPE PHYSICAL ZOOM like the long lost Zenfone Zoom
then this will be practical
stop with the nonsense 100 cameras.

SoftBank and Leica invest $121 million.
The l16 light camera has been mostly a flop until now. The photo stitching until now has been pretty disappointing. The hardware is just not into the level promised. Not even with the Lowest Possible combinations of lenses in the setup.
The Snapdragon 810 is just not geared for that kind of processing or stitching. The Camera sensors are inferior in quality and among other things, do not have fast enough readout to be able to accommodate the necessary speed for HDR from multiple cameras.
Hopefully before they take out ANY new variant of this, out resolve the ONLY 2 things promised by this camera setup:
1. Good stitching that promises to replace larger cameras.
2. HDR comparable with professional camera.

most people I talk to about phones (nearly everyone I meet) tell me they dont want more than 2 lenses, most even dont care about 2 and want 2 lens. I personally been at 2 lenses and went back to 1. Im not a photograph nor a videoguy - and those I know doing photos or videos use - cameras 3000€+. Im not sure what 16 lenses will offer, but surely not what we want. Im sure it will be a niche like yota phones (which i loved). Nice to see innovation and experiments though.

Trust me but the other manufacturer will not adopt this camera nonsense. This is impractical and it just plain expensive to implement. Too much for developer to execute a polished camera algorithms. You can bet your phone will come with smaller battery with all that lenses taking up space.

I will not doubt the IQ of the camera in daylight, and it might offer a lot of versatility, but it still a cumulative of small sensor, so lowlight and dynamic range will be huge talking point here, not to mention the processing time taken of stitching it together

What I've seen from video reviews, the camera itself is pretty much a disaster.
It absolutely underperforms in all aspects, especially in low-light. It's portraits are pretty much a joke. Operating system is slow, buggy and lame. Prices vary from 1000 to 2000 dollary doos. Huh huh. Most of the phones' camera beat it all around, easy peasy.
But luckily, it's only in the starting stages. Let's hope it becomes the next best thing.

I'd reluctant to think the loftier goals of implementing their tech in things like cars will come to anything much given from the reviews and user impressions I've read their existing products were prone to crashing and various bugs, so much so that it was anticipated by regular users when using their devices.
Seems the potential is there just not the execution.
