All I can see as of now is an existent Pemium overexpensive flg with best tech and best camera setup till this date.
Those phones you mention arent even released yet, but judging by what those OEMs did in the past, seriously doubt they will offer anything better, if for the same pricetag.
Apple will give you just a faster SoC again, maybe improve on gimmick face recognition.
Sammy will add just an extra widelens camera or sth, for some gimmick extra camera feature, maybe.
Pixel, wht, an extra gimmick feature camera too?
How is that anything on par or somehow even better with this, to justify a 1000$ pricetag worth?

Price too high by that time Note9 and iPhone trio would be unvieled and price around that a month later Pixel 3 all which sell way more than sony and offer better than sony except for 4k display

Everything about profits when it comes to put 2 flagship phones that not much differrent, u sacrifice your money release it at the same time, normal XZ2 timeline is okay. Take at movie on cinema, u dont want to put your movie on the same timeline as Avengers Infinity War lol.

The question is, What else would you consider at that 1000$ price tag?
I cant think of anything better with that same extreme price tag.

If some interested in Sony device want Premium they ll get premium, if they want regular flag they ll get XZ3....
If they want the cheaper flag they ll go XZ2
Different release schedules wont improve profits in any way...
Lower prices will.

Dont talks about apple, no matter what theyre doing, people will blindly buy it. Sony on the other hand are lower on market share, i dont know how they can make profit doing it that way.

Premium phone got to have that premium price tag. Whatever the reason to own this XZ2 Premium it got to be the pure love for Sony branding and loyalty. Else, I see no reason to buy it. I rather spend money on cheaper flagship.

XA series must be upgraded to higher Snapdragon 600 series, maybe even the Snapdragon 710, while the 636 can go to the L series, along with a 1080p display.

Why reveal it that earlier than its release date is a mystery to me. They plan to have it in stores at September, and at the same month reveal the XZ3 (probably)?
I don't see where is the profitable in that.

Some listed preorder sources already as low as $839 USD, or about $645 GBP. Dunno how hard Brits would be hit with import fees, though, or if it'd be worth the difference.
