22 July 2018
Affordable Android phones usually means skinned Android phones. Not so with the Nokia 3.1, which runs Android One (currently Oreo, P in the future).

better hardware ... strong battery durability

Xiaomi is doing the right job... Their motto is very clear. The innovation is accessible to everyone at affordable price with great built quality.

I see many phones go into review but never come out of the dens of gsma... they swallow the phones or what?

I'm actually looking forward to the 3/32GB version of this device, as it's 1) small 2) updates often 3) cheap (159€).
The alternate is buying the Galaxy A3, the really expensive (but good) XZ compact, or a pixel (also expensive).

If someone can point out a device with a similar price/size/storage/ram/update point, I'd be glad to hear about it.

Arvind7955, 22 Jul 201818:9 ration was supposed to reduce the bezels. What is the ... moreNot really. 18:9 ratio is to improve usage on portrait mode. User can see more content in one view. This, in turn, reduce the overall scrolling time.

Nokia/HMD is doing a good job. They are the only Android OEM who deliver monthly security patches and major OS updates even for their cheaper phones.
I am curious how the Nokia 3.1 will perform in the review. I hope gsmarena will review the Nokia 2.1 too.

                    Just another boring, generic Chinaphone.

No. The 18:9 ratio was adopted to increase the screen area without making the phone too wide for most people to handle comfortably, not specifically to allow the bezels to be reduced. How would it? Reducing the bezels has a similar benefit in terms of handling but changing the ratio does not magically mean smaller bezels.

Anonymous, 22 Jul 2018It's a good thing it's smooth like IOS I do not find it is like iod. Ios is locked down, android is way more customizable. But if you refer to performance, then, yes, you are right.

Anonymous, 22 Jul 2018I wouldn't buy a Nokia....they are terrible Me either I had the original Nokia 3 and it was awful.

18:9 ration was supposed to reduce the bezels. What is the point of 18:9 ration if the bezels are thick as duck?!
