Duel83, 29 Jul 2018Why every Apple articles are full of whiny insecure bitter ... moreHi. First of I have to mention I am talking about MY REASONING. And I do NOT represesent in any way the Avarage android lover.
I own an 2017 iPhone X from work, the S9 as my daily Driver, galax Note FE, Xiaomi mi 6X (6/64 version)
, and a few other GSM based device.
I have experienced all iPhones since the 5. (iOS 6) And android since pretty much it was created.
I shall explain what I like, what I DISLIKE and what should be done in my opinion in EACH OS.
And I'll start off with Android-
      What I love:
      - Open OS, you can practically do anything. You can tweak it to your needs
      - it's a fluid OS.
      - very very VERY ample in the options
-Supports a crazy array of files. Has the support (software wise) of multiple sims, Memory expansion.
      -Skinnable.
-wide support for SoCs, memory configuration up to 8 GB so far.
      - OS is swappable.
      - has support for local File management.
      What I dislike in Android:
-despite being fairly refined and optimised, Android on it's purest form is still fairly resource hogger.
      - the fact that if you want to use Android with google's Suite, it's all or nothing, and going by "nothing" option bans you from ever using google services pack.
(Yes, I'm looking at you Fire OS)
What SHOULD be done in Android:
-absulute freedom to use whichever services pack the OEM desires,WITHOUT conciquences.
      - Natural Optimisation, less Hogging.
      - ability for the user to choose if to update immidiately to Stock android, or wait for the OEM's skin.
-wider non root capabilities. (Advanced Android users know what I mean)
      And now: iOS
      What I like:
-Very easy, intuitive, and straight-to-the-fact UI.
-Clean look, very few bloatware (you get the bloatware but can remove it, and install your own apps)
-Fairly fluid, even after a few major updates
-Widest support of apps. Easy to understand.
-very clean and simple Status bar
      -insanely optimised, crazy preformance.
      -long support (5years!)
      -minimal data collection.
      What I dislike:
-as per Software wise. You cannot get the files you'd like immidiately, there has to be a bridge to get it (songs- iTunes, IPA files-iOS Authenticator. So on)
-seperated toggles and Notifications. (I know. I know. It's since iOS 7, And I still think it's annoying imo)
-Comes out of the box with WAY too many bugs to the user's taste sometimes, with each new iteration.
      -ridiculously narrow SoC support
-no memory expansion support natively, requires a dedicated app for that.
      -no multiple sim support
      What SHOULD be done:
-Allow connectivity methods to be open for sharing.
      -get rid of the bridges!
-Get the job done while squishing bugs in the first place. I don't want to update my iphone 15 times a year.
That's the reason I am not using a davice based on iOS as my daily driver, not that android is perfect. But comparing cons with Pros on both sides, I honestly think that Android is less compromising.

I think i made the right decision to move to android this year from the iphone as it seems apple wants to charge upwards of 1000 $ for the same thing a android flagship provides at 600-700$ and oneplus will provide at even less.

TBH, the screen on the base iphone model s*cks and it seems the trend will continue with the SE Plus. When you get the best OLED screen from samsung at less, I don't really see the point of 330 pixel phone in 2018.

Good on you apple, but i am sticking with android.

Anonymous, 29 Jul 2018 Ptch is probably the single best thing about that phone. ... moreSeeing as how most Android phones this year have a notch that IMO is more useful, that statement only works on Samsung, and they don’t do it for obvious reasons

Anonymous, 29 Jul 2018i have a suggestion, why dont you all just buy a flagship a... moreBecause 1. Not everyone can afford having an iPhone
              2. Not everyone LIKE iPhone
And 3. Why bother have a cage when you got a garden?

imparanoic1, 30 Jul 2018i bet iphone se plus (3rd tier) looks exactly like iphone 8... morePerhaps. But then again we know that the FPS will NOT exist on 2018 iPhones, and no physical button as well. So how would that SE PLUS look like then?

Anonymous, 29 Jul 2018i have a suggestion, why dont you all just buy a flagship a... moreThat's what I do anyway. I upgraded to the iPhone X from my iPhone 6s, upgraded to the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus from my S7 Edge and also bought the OnePlus 6. Love all of them. Hate some of the restrictions still present on iOS like the limited download size, we can only download up to 150MB from the App Store after which we have to use WiFi. Granted it has been increased from when I was using the iPhone 6s, earlier the limit was even less and they increased it in iOS 9 of 10 I think to 100MB. My S9 Plus is running fine but I dread the day it'll start lagging like my S7 Edge. The OnePlus 6 is the perfect VFM budget flagship imho. It's got almost everything my S9 Plus has and almost beats it in every area. Almost being the key word.

i bet iphone se plus (3rd tier) looks exactly like iphone 8/7, as it's 3rd tier, apple want the most desirable designs for flagship and 2nd tier, they would only consider 3rd tier as low end one which uses same old iphone design from previous gen (iphone se = 5)

                            jobs is crying

The only reason for me to pick up an iPhone is their great software optimization, especially in apps.

My ghad, even an iPhone 5s could run Rules of Survival at max settings without any major performance issues while my Redmi 5 Plus is barely consistent with 50fps at balanced settings!

Anonymous, 29 Jul 2018 Ptch is probably the single best thing about that phone. ... moreLOL, I don't think my S9 Plus has wasted space, nor does my P20 Pro (which has a smaller, more logical notch).
Speaking of wasted space, how about the lower screen part of the iPhone X, is it working out well for you? Making any use of it? I think the answer is NO. On every app, dialer, browsing, or even typing, there's always like 10% of the screen being wasted at the bottom. But no, you don't care about using your entire screen, nor do you care about good cameras or good screens and better repairability or even basic biometrics (Apple owns the patents for in-Power button fingerprint sensor, why come not add it? It's basically a 5$ sensor). All you care about is.. the fancy bitten apple logo on the back and bragging about the price of your phone. Funny thing most people I know who buy iPhone are literally poor af people, just trying to accomplish what they lack in jobs, cars etc.
So, have fun with your phone Mr. Applish. I hope I wasn't too harsh on you kiddo
