I maybe late for this topic but As I've bought a Honor 10 smartphone...
I've notice while playing PUBG & Darkness Rises. I'VE compared the Honor 10 (2018s flagship of course) to my Mid-range Mi A2. Huawei Turbo GPU seems a lot of blurry when playing games. While Adreno GPU provides sharper display & much clearer than what Turbo GPU have. Some people said that Huawei developers are focusing on optimization it doesn't matter if it is blurry unless the game is smooth and responsive? LOL WTF? We play in the highest settings/Max settings in order to provide clear display. Lag issue only applies in midrange devices. But even Mi A2 mid-range phone is already smooth. Just the Mali GPU is suck cuz it lacks of anisotropic filtering. Adreno is really the best GPU for gaming.

In my opinion this is not exactly a fair test at least for pubg because of the graphic settings chosen. High frame rate setting does set a 30fps cap which floats a bit that's why it may go just over 30fps. To let the GPU use its full potential you would set graphics to smooth which unlocks a frame rate setting: 'extreme'
Looking at the benchmark graphs, you can clearly see that with GPU turbo enabled most of the time its just 30fps constant (capped)

Since beggining I said is bollocks and it is bollocks. A lot of people said it increases fps drastically and I was sure they lying and just bunch of jealous fans. And of course that's how it is, you don't expect some software tricks to change how you performs drastically. You want better frame rates and better graphics? Buy phone with top chips, end of comment:)

This isn't really improvement in any sense. It's akin to Apple changing the Reception Bar icons on the iPhone 4 to make it seem like they fixed the antenna issue.
Besides, this feature was stolen from Custom Roms/Tasker... where you essentially kill background activities, reduce CPU clockspeed a lot, and reduce GPU frequency a little... essentially to smooth out the Running App, Decrease the Energy Drain, and essentially increase your Battery Life.
So the additional +13% battery life is expected and nothing extra-ordinary. Getting something like 40% extra battery is also not difficult (depending on the device), its because software is very bloated these days. And throwing extra RAM, extra cores, extra storage, and extra Programming Languages isn't helping... but rather allowing shoddy practices by developers.

Don't forget they're a business! ;)
I personally will never buy Hauwei again because of my experience with the Honor 7.
Regard this turbo update, all the reviews I have read/watched said this update improved their devices ... be it the frame rate stability or longer play time. If I own one of these devices, I won't complaint about their 'deception.' :))

abigfanoftechs, 31 Jul 2018So for those 'optimized' games, the players get to play the... moreChoices are good, provided the choices are given in a clear and honest manner, in a way that doesn't misguide me from other choices, certainly not in this case. If I didn't know how to dig for information I would have been mislead by their advertising thinking it really magically boosts the GPU by 60% and could really match the SD845 with a firmware update or something.
Speaking of outright lie, Huawei's claim of 960fps video recording on the P20 series is an outright lie. It records in 240fps then interpolates the results to 960fps, or sometimes just slows playback to x0.25 the usual speed under insufficient light. There are videos on youtube and a discussion on xda about this.
