Galaxy Note9 to shoot 960fps video footage for twice as long as the S9

The increase is from 0.2 seconds to 0.4 seconds and should make super slow-mo clips that much more exciting.

This is the most cost-effective solution which would probably add about 5$ to the BOM (maybe a pair of A75 should do it)

Because if the S9 has 512MB of RAM for the camera and we get 0.2s of slow motion, one whole second is an already steep 1.5GB of RAM, more than what Android Go needs to run! A whole minute would need 90GB of RAM. If we overlook the insane price it would carry or the fact that even the best gaming rig doesn't have something remotely close to that, this would take a huge space in the device.

The main point here is to keep the recording times to very usable extents, where even a total of 5s 960fps continuous recording would be decently enough.
    We would have to come a very long way for a full minute, that's for sure though.

      AnonD-665723, 28 Jul 2018Knowing Sony, that will never happen, I'd prefer 12 second ... moreFrom my perspective as a non-Sony user, I know how bad it feels when OEMs ditch our favorite custom UI features that we have been using for years.
      However, changes must be done, and the only way for Sony to make the software updates to arrive as early and as stable as possible, they have to sacrifice some things that aren't widely used, even if they're very useful to some people.
      But don't judge that way on Sony's future endeavors.
      I remember last year, that the XZ Premium had a barrel distortion issue with its camera, and just a few months later, they came up with an update with a really working fix for it.
      I'm definitely sure they would do the same thing, given how they already improved the camera image processing already this year.
      You can leave Sony for a while if you're not really happy with what they're currently doing, and you're always welcome to come back to them if ever you feel like going back again.

And I desperately need a wider note like device gamut other than just Samsung (that fulfills my need right now) or LG, (fairly low end.) A Xiaomi with a Mi-pen would be awesome, or Huawei with a pen. I am not having ONLY samsung products. the moment something better THAT DOES NOT COMPROMISE on either Headphonejack, Existing of a notch or memory expansion pops in I will jump the wagon to that brand. as long it has an unlocked bootloader and excellent preformance.

                        Guys this is awesome but we dont know how the speakers will bee? Hopefully stereo speakers or atleast able to mod for true stereo.

                          But fans will somehow justify and force you into buying that 25 dollar 2 in one dongle which does not even support fast charging.
                          Its exactly what apple did, creating a problem that did not exist, later sell a solution which equals profits for the company.

                            I was a huge Sony fan but Sony doesn't seem to care about what their fans want, they just seem to remove features from their phones and I'm pretty sure fans didn't want to see ambient flow, but that happened.
                            Here is a quick recap hall of shame removed features:

                            Small Apps (best multitasking feature removed)
                            No advanced multi-tasking ability like multi window
                            Xperia answering machine (removed after Oreo)
                            Double tap to sleep and wake (removed after xz premium)
                            Xperia theme engine does not work system wide after Oreo update
                            No always on display
                            No iris scanner
                            No night light
                            No password protected secure folders
                            No motion detection for super slowmo videos
                            No OIS for camera
                            XZ2's front camera does not has auto focus
                            My favorite app track id discontinued (forced to use apple owned Shazam)

                            The only thing I like about Xperia is the timely software updates but what's the use when you disable key features like double tap to wake and night light?

                            But that's not all the company has no respect for its fans either, after 5 months of announcing they just released Xperia XZ2 for 1062USD in India, yeah the non premium one, that's a huge mockery for Indian fans of Sony, considering XZ3 Will be announced month later from now. Basically they are like 'oh hey our fans love us, let's try to make as much money off them'

                                    I'll be waiting for Sony to extend the time to a full minute or 2, with an expanded DRAM (maybe connecting the sensor-embedded DRAM to a much larger external DRAM on the motherboard through a high-speed transfer cable that can transfer data as fast as from sensor to embedded DRAM).

                                        Did samsung does not release full potential of their S series? Or there is difference camera sensor on Note series?
