S8 and note 8 are laggy out of the... moreI'm pretty sure you didn't even try any of them, I did.
They feel buttery smooth. The animations are great and consistant. Single core performance which is used in editing videos and loading web pages and rendering stuff is a few leagues above any SD835/845 phone kiddo.
You're just praising a phone that's basically feature-less and animation-less.
It will be fast, but to a point where it feels ugly to use.

S8 and note 8 are laggy out of the box.
Compare directly with Pixel,One Plus and Sony and your delusions will disappear.

I was very loyal to Galaxy S series since S2 and stopped buying samsung after S7 Edge.
This is due to Samsung's late / never OS updates and they really stopped innovation and creativity after S8.
I would have gone for OP6 if they had IP68 and MicroSD card slot in it. If they had added the said features, it would have been better than S9+ and Note8.

xOdd, 31 Jul 2018Software support? For real? If you mean community support, ... moreS6, S7 and S8 are slow on updates what are you smoking? Everyone knows that. Thats one of the main reasons why i got rid of mine AND their OS sucks it's slow and heavy all it does is lag your phone or crash it. Samsung is better off using Google's.

nik.007, 01 Aug 2018Well, here OP6 costs 35k while both S9+ and P20 Pro cost 65... moreYeah, I agree. But honestly, Samsung's software been always feature rich and usually updates from some x.0 to x.1 doesn't feel all that different.
And yeah, the price of the OP6 is tempting and it's the perfect phone for the price, but in some countries you just gotta pay that tiny extra cash.. so I respect your opinion

I find this quite normal. India is not quite the richest country in the world. Of course this brands can take samesung out of discussion. They will never do it in Europe or USA tough. But i sense a really big fight for the estern parts of the world. Nokia, samsung and this whaterer knockoffers. Samesung will loose at some point and ithink Nokia will to if they do not push cheapper. Which they can't. So knockoffers will rule the eastern world in about 10 years if not sooner.

Just another tipping point of Samsung’s downfall. And what is Samsung doing? Wasting money in making ads to mock Apple and going back to shotgun product releases. It’s only a matter of time before Samsung turns into Sony, the cycle continues.

It's not surprising. The op6 is a more efficient offer. And s8+ owners were never hoped to upgrade to the s9+.

xOdd, 31 Jul 2018Software support? For real? If you mean community support, ... moreWell, here OP6 costs 35k while both S9+ and P20 Pro cost 65k. And I am 100% sure this price variance is there in most of the countries.
As with software, I meant 2 things.
One, OP's Oxygen OS is way more snappier and faster than Samsung's.
Second, you did hear recently that OP will be pushing a 3rd Android version upgrade to OP3/3T. Well Samsung would be providing 2 version updates, and the second one will arrive like really late.

Anonymous, 31 Jul 2018To all the price stuff, s9 is like 50k and op6 is 35k, what... moreBased on average salary anything above 30k is still considered premium but sadly it's the high taxes, artificially inflated currency and OEM raising their own costs which make the phones unrealistically expensive for India. For example the Sony xz2(not premium) costs 72k($1000).
A good idea would be making some phone models exclusively for India.

xOdd, 31 Jul 2018Software support? For real? If you mean community support, ... moreS8 still stuck at 8.0 while OP5 got 8.1 with july security update .. so if they skipped one or two security updates and still brought you the latest updates that mean it's a bad thing? Oneplus promised to update Oneplus 3/3T to Android P while Samsung S6 stuck at Android 7.0 ... if you going to bring up OP1,OP2 and OPX they were a Joint between cyanogenMod and oneplus which they got separated during OPX which i can see why Oneplus won't update those devices anymore but OP3/3t and upward are pure Oneplus team so updates still keep coming to these devices and ohh yah don't let me talk about Huawei and their very poor record about updating their devices and how late they are when they update them
