At least windows is user protective and knows dual core will not benefit at this stage and will eat lots of power, thereby ruining user experience, when the techs ripe and they know they can optimally utilize it, they would get into it. I Like That...
All my buddies with android are crying about battery backup or lags. This at least gives a unified experience...

WP7.5 needs no dual-core. If it comes it is welcomed. If you put it up against dual-core (Android) it will keep up or out perform it. Android is not appealing, when is see it, it just makes me turn around, maybe it's just the apps that appeals... don't know. But WP7.5 is extraodinarily executed.
Nokia Windows Phone 7.5: 4.3" (or higher), 12MP (or higher), 1080p, Super Amoled screen, great built device... we are waiting :-)

There is no reason for dual core WP7 device to exist. Single core do the job well enough...
Heck, single core wp7 devices own dual core Android monsters when it comes to the speed and fluidity of the OS.

I don't know about what nokia fanboys want???
when android was competing with Symbian so all nokia fans just said that symbian is way better than android or IOS even WP and blah blah blah now their father (nokia) dropped symbian as their primary OS and take WP as all fans have suddenly shift towards WP and now they are just saying that WP is way better than Android or IOS :p
One day nokia drop WP and take Andriod so wht gonna happen :p

I am quite happy with the Mango update... I have heard and read many good things about it... Now if only Microsoft start bringing quality apps and games...

I really hope windows phone OS rise, this will lead android/IOS to better improve thier stuff. We will benefit :) so stop saying killing each OS just because you hated the others...it kills competition, kills innovation...

This is something I love from Microsoft, they are focused on how to equalize the OS with the hardware, how to obtain the major benefit between power and battery.
This is why they have a very stable and good OS indeed, they don't trust only in RAW power, but also in a perfect balance between both.

It's full of security holes, got tons of viruses and trojans, and it's open source so that means anyone and their dog can write malicious scripts for it. Android is like McDonald's fast food. Both are number 1 on their own industry but both sells junk and the blind masses loves them. Android got nothing against WP. It's only a matter of time before WP gets mature enough and they will eat Android's marketshare.

Hopefully this will happen within the next year or at most early 2013. I haven't bought a new phone since 2005 and I have my eyes on a WP7 device. At the moment the phones running this OS are fine (dual core isn't really needed at the moment) but they are lagging behind iOS and Android. I was considering the iPhone but I really like Metro UI. They just need to add more features i.e. maybe a 3rd homescreen (swipe left) for something... It'd be good if they could allow you to have your own background behind the tiles because even some simple designs would still look nice.
I hope there will be more developers creating/porting popular games and apps from iOS and Android. I don't really like Android that much for some reason (dad and sister have one) and the iPhone is pretty good except so pricey and the design 'updates' really aren't helping either (other sister owns one).
I hope Nokia will release some devices later on with these extras because they Sea Ray looks nice but not there yet. I hear that Nokia will be adding their own features (maybe something like HTC have done with their hub) later on. I don't know if NFC support is something to do with the phone manufacturers or the OS itself but that should be added too because people are starting to make a big deal out of it (especially with future Nokia devices).

[deleted post]I am actually currently an iPhone fan, but a fan of tech in general, preferably tech that works nicely. Survey of tablets for example, already show that interest is highest for Windows tablets, then iOS, with Android a distant third.
There is only so much patchwork that can be done to cover the intrinsic weaknesses of Android that is fragmentation and security issues. At the end of the day, customers just want phones that work. iOS is delivering this. WP7 will do the same.

It seems Microsoft is actually trying to make sensible decisions instead of aiming for buzzwords.
I wonder if they are overestimating the average smartphone buyer :)

I seriously do not know what Android is pushing tech specs update for, seems to be just for the sake of it. Turns out iPhone didn't even bother to double RAM, and is still using 512MB, yet, combined with the new faster A5, produced the beautiful Infinity Blade 2. WP7 is the same, optimising the software to match the hardware.

For your information, the LTE subsystem is separate from the Windows phone OS running on dedicated CPUs and dedicated real-time operating systems. The adaptation to LTE is really small for Windows. I'm not sure how Microsoft can claim that they support LTE.
