Go with notch like ipX or full screen like nex and find x without notch. That's modern design.

Sad facts, 06 Aug 2018For those who buy China clones. Be it Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo ... moreNope Samsung g looks and acts like a cheap pohone.
Slow software, second rate hardware, dated design.
The Chinese are not cheap BTW. They have the same prices as any flagship would 2-3 years ago. $700 the high end, $400 mid end, $200 low end.
Only Samsung has the gall to price at $1000 what basically is a midrange phone (same PPI for 4th year in a row, basically killing VR, same design for 3rd year in a row, low battery, mid end ram, low Body to usable are ratio). It is a mess really. Only old people still think that Samsung is high end. Used to be, back when they would load their phones. They started cutting corners and they have basically lost half the same from their high end segment...

Kiyasuriin, 06 Aug 2018well... you could technically register as OEM infront of go... moreAndroid is free. It's open source. Which is why most OEM's and the likes of Microsoft(?!) contribute more to Android development than Google. No one would have to pay Google anything to omit Google services from Android. As a matter of fact, they'd save around 10-20 bucks per device as they wouldn't have to pay Google for those apps.
Are you getting the point I'm making? Doesn't sound like it. :) The point is to get Google out of Android. That means not having any of the Google services in Android. Ever.

AnonD-762416, 06 Aug 2018A forked android is an android without the Google Services.... morewell... you could technically register as OEM infront of google and buy a lisence of Android. just refuse having the google play pack.
However. do remember that by refusing you CANNOT use the google services pack EVER.

For those who buy China clones. Be it Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo mostly will regret it.
You may keep silently convincing your self.. "Nevermind... its ok.. its cheap.. i bought a cheap phone... so its bad.. its OK... everything is FINE... cheap .. cheap."
Money can always be earned. But headaches, grief and time can never be recovered.

Kiyasuriin, 06 Aug 2018Which OS you'd like it to run then? A forked android is an android without the Google Services. Keep the current compatibility and ditch all the Google Services. Samsung is already the biggest contributor to the android development, they've been that for almost a decade, so development wouldn't be a problem. Another consumer oriented fix we'd definitely get from a fork is timely updates. The reason android is fragmented beyond recognition is a deliberate action by Google. To push licence costs for proprietary Linux features onto manufacturers.

And tell me which chinese phone is more interesting than this. What mess is Samsung in? Please specify it. Dont be ambiguous when leaving a comment. And their software for Note 9 will be the newer Experience UI 9.5 which we havent seen yet. At this point it just shows how unrefine your statement is.

Samsung is a mess at this point. Used to be their software that needed improvement. At this point they cannot even compete in hardware, a buch of Chinese phones look so much more interesting at this point.

Love how the "silver lining" is having useless things, like non-used space on top (forcing the notification bar to go lower and take space from the screen's useful space and (that) the other useless thing is including a freaking extra hole all the while they could add an adapter for your headphones.
It spites me that tech sites are so regressive. I mean they are their opinions but unfortnulately it causes people to mimick them, so the notch hate is more widespread than it needs to be and the headphone jack clings on to life further disallowing us to get an ever greater choice of USB c devices.
As for Samsung I can see they connstatly losing ground to the Chinese, they are such a regressive mess and the fact that her products are supported by tech sites still it shows how much more should avoid it.
The previous tech sites' darling HTC is mostly dead thankfully (equally bad decision making and refusal to get on with times), so I hope Samsun's fall would intensify. Making g space for actually innovative companies, you know, like the ones tech sites hate...
