J7 2016 oreo that means the a series 2016 should get oreo that would make sense since its midrange but really need oreo for the s6

Those 2 years of update policy only applies for flagships. Here, Samsung is giving their budget phones two major updates while other manufacturers tend to ignore their midrange phones all together, or giving them only one major update and no security patch. Because of this, Samsung have the best support for midrangers than any other manufacturers.

It’s just to fulfill its obligation. So no, it’s not a good thing. Being the largest android oem out there, they are one of the worst at updating their smartphones

J7 Prime will get Oreo update by January 2019... Samsung how about the Y Variants isnt it unfair that we dont get updates tsk tsk... Those F Variants they are the only one receiving updates but here in the Philippines for Y Varianys we dont received any updates which is unfair...

Yes. My A9 pro 2016 is getting the upgrade.
Hope itnreleases 8.0 for Samsung Note 4 also.

This will be the downfall of Samsung. The battle is on the Mid Range and if they provide updates to their phones this slow???? They will be outpaced by the likes of Huawei etc.
