Mi mix the original had 4400 Mah
Then Xiaomi regressed (peaked with Mi Mix) and the rest never even touched her. Huawei tries w 4000 may. Still 10% too short. New Xiaomi and the likes of Samsung cannot be even considering, they kill background apps to preserve battery, that's how bad they are.

None of Gsmarena's endurance tests EVER USE MOBILE DATA. Calls use 3G, web browsing uses Wi-Fi 802.11n, and video playback is done with all network radios turned off (offline). In REAL WORLD usage, only absolute battery capacity in milliampere-hours (mAh) matters. Gigabit LTE capable phones devour battery power like there's no tomorrow when mobile LTE data is used for the usual Facebook, Youtube, and Web Browsing. Using WIFi in a Gigabit equipped LTE phone is more of an exception rather than the rule. Gaming in a phone with powerful processor is another battery draining activity. Unless you rarely use mobile data (and rely more on free or home wifi), tests results from gsmarena's battery endurance ratings are not to be taken as a reliable measure of REAL WORLD battery performance.

Note 8, S8/s8 plus, s9/s9plus are nowhere near Huawei flagships on battery enduarance and performance!! Please check out some video reviews if you haven't. Samsung batteries are crap!!!!

most likely it ll remain as 4k battery but better optimization compare to kirin 970
if it can be 4100 or 4200 i ll take it as a plus.

The difference in the rectangles is intentional, what they are showing on the right is not battery capacity but battery life (P20 Pro battery lasts more than Mate 10 Pro, on average, even though they have the same capacity). So, they are hinting that the battery of Mate 20 Pro will preserve the battery better than the others.

Huawei mate 10 endurance rating 87hrs, 4000 mAH.
So the marketing did not make a mistake. The bar shows the overall endurance of the phone.
Mate 10 last shorter then P20

Huawei P20 Pro. 4000mAH battery 89hrs battery endurance.
So if Samsung release note 9 with 4000mAh, Huawei will need to launch theirs at 4700mAh just to match Samsung’s endurance rating.

Get it on Huawei! Give it at least 4500mAh. That way, the battery capacity race in flagship grade phones started by Samsung's Note 8 will keep the ball rolling.
Next year, we may see flagships with 5000mAh upwards battery capacity as the race becomes more intense. Higher capacity batteries are certainly feasible and don't add much thickness given that phone displays continue to scale up, leaving plenty of room for higher capacity batteries.
