I hate xiaomi for thinking India is poor country and releasing on cheap phones.Instead of releasing mi8 their true flagship they are trying to sell us a cheap plastic phone with SD845

honor killed xiaomi this time in india, with its sudden launch of honor play in the best price.

People complaining about plastic build lol, the most practical phone material is metal then plastic with glass last glass build is a joke breaking all the time and phones like these with large batteries don't need wireless charging leave the glass for ultra premium flagships with terrible battery life for people rushing to charge their tiny batteries

My only gripe is that it does not have an amoled display and has a cheap looking design. They are both sub-par. And the design is worse than Xiaomi phones priced at even $150.

nik.007, 13 Aug 2018I am still sceptical that they will go with a plastic build... moreAgreed. At least in India, yes. People won't care about looks and will buy this phone in hordes.

LOCO, 13 Aug 2018I don't see how it's possible that Xiaomi will price the PO... moreHonor play, seriously? This thing runs on the SD845, which in itself demands the price premium. The play runs on the Kirin 970 platform which has performance levels equal to SD835 levels. And the cameras are sure gonna be better on this one. Plus it also has infrared face unlock.

Immobilizer, 13 Aug 2018Thick bezels all round Sluggish MIUI 9 running Old OS ... moreSluggish UI? Hell no. I have been using MIUI since 3 years now without any issues. It has a plethora of features and is much better in terms of performance and updates compared to Samsung's Experience UI. And the optimisation on the software side is really good.

                    the "ultimate sleeper phone"

Immobilizer, 13 Aug 2018Thick bezels all round Sluggish MIUI 9 running Old OS ... moreAnd FYI, as I am quite sure you haven't actually experienced MIUI, it IS NOT SLUGGISH, it's nowhere close to being sluggish. And this is coming from someone who has been using an SD625 device for over a year with MIUI.

Immobilizer, 13 Aug 2018Thick bezels all round Sluggish MIUI 9 running Old OS ... moreOn one hand, people say "just using the Flagship processor doesn't make a phone Flagship", on the other hand they still compare it with those "true" flagships which are priced way higher!
Bro, you do need to understand that although both of these are from "cheap, chinese" brands, and have the same processor, they are definitely NOT in the same price segment. The OP6T will, at the very least, carry a 35-40% price premium over this Poco (and most probably even more). That in itself puts them in vastly different price segments, so I guess it is simply foolish to compare those two.

jimm, 13 Aug 2018Head phone jack used to be in xiaomi cheap phones. Sd card ... moreWell, Xiaomi is providing the latest flagship processor, a more than decent camera, an IR-assisted face ID, ALONG WITH a 4000 mAh battery, hf jack, micro sd slot, all at a potentially sub 25k INR price, and this guy has to still bad mouth them, not for the plastic build (which most people are doing, deservedly so), but for providing the jack, battery and sd slot.
You bro, deserve to buy those Pixels or iPhones, which don't provide any of these at 3x the prices.

                            Thick bezels all round

Sluggish MIUI 9 running Old OS

Mediocre camera probably worse than MI8

                            LCD Display

                            Wait for OP6T or OP7

It's a great job from Xiaomi when they make phones like these. Hope it'll avaible for other markets as well.

Head phone jack used to be in xiaomi cheap phones. Sd card slot used to be in cheap phones in past.4000 mah battery used to be in base model of xiaomi.later xiaomi discontinued such features and made an artificial crisis in the market for dedicated head phone jack, bigger battery and micro sd slot, and now they are giving all them in one phone and people think that they are getting totally new thing.what a market policy xiaomi has applied to fool its costumer.

This time xiaomi has a lot of pressure specially from a honor play (flagship processor) in cheap price so we hope pocophone will be priced low to compete in indian market.
