Also, I would still be using my nails to tap smartphone screens, because no-one would tell the difference between a capacative and resistive touch screen; I would still take photos/videos without HDR(+) because the average guy doesn't give two $#&%S about dynamic range and photo quality; I wouldn't be able to multitask on my android phone because android 1.6 didn't support it truely, I could mention a bazzlion things I wouldn't have been able to use if not for constant updates and developments just because the average Joe doesn't care.

Plus nokia camera and few other apps need to be optimised.
So they are taking 1 and half month time more than pixels.

Nokia 7 plus has pure Android still it takes months ... moreActually, kind of the same, the customisation are in the interface are already made, all they need to do is to bring them together with the new android. Should not take to much for experts. It takes way more to make drivers and firmware to withstand the "new" OS, as it takes to merje the interface with the core.

Typically Google copied miui for changing left side time display. Colour icons for settings vertical recent menu. Gestures. All these features already exists in MIUI

You just have in your phone info android version one number bigger and thats about it. For average user it makes no difference. Only for these tech guru's who understand and develop apps makes it difference. I know a lot of people who still use 4.4 kitkat on there phone and dont feel a need of anything special. Tech gurus who cant live without number change in settings about phone is just minor.
I have jet to see someone to explain me why android OS updates are so important and cant live with out them. It does not specifically make your phone better and as we have seen, it can make your phone slower or use up battery more or your ROM space more and thats about it. Software data wont get smaller as we can see on video games. 20 years ago 1GB game was considered enormous and now we have games that are even 150GB in size. Heck now we have even 2GB games for phones.
But well you can brag about that you have the latest number for your Android that does not make it super android or something. Apps still work on android 6 even as there are still a big market of people who have android 6 on there devices. Phones still sell that are even Android 4.4.4 so where are you missing out when you dont get your Android updates ?
I have Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 for 3 months by now. Still there is no Nokia phone in my market that is little brother for Nokia home country. We have similar language and even same national anthem that Finland actually copied from us. My country is even considered as a silicon wally of Europe. For a small country of 1.4 million people we are space country and we had our own satellite in orbit. Some brand of ours that world know and value. Audes, Skype, Estonia piano and some more i cant remember right now.
The point is that when i can get Xiaomi in my market with good hardware before Nokia, then i will go with Xiaomi and i dont care much about updates that dont make any difference for me and my use of the device. I have June security update on my phone and have got 6 updates for either MIUI or security updates with in that close to 3 months i have had it.

Who cares where companies are located in the world and how they are built with who's countries workers. The point is that parts are made in China and that's it. Who build them and who brand them is a different story.
