I bought an iphone SE last year and I love it. I got it because of its small size and shape. I hope apple upgrades it with the same body shape and size but with better specs and an iphone x-like display

John, 23 Aug 2018A10 chipset?! wtf? So a new phone with a 2015-16 chipse... moreA10 isn't a bad chipset, around the same performance as SD710 (for iPhone 7) or Kirin 960 ( (for iPhone 7 Plus) according to AnTuTu (the two devices seem to have a little different configuration, probably cooling system or maximum clock, that allows the bigger device to squeeze a little more power). But yea it stops there, other component features are stuck in 2016.

The budget iphone will be an interesting device, considering that as soon as its release the price of the older models will drop inmediatly. Lets see if it worth buy this device instead of a iphone 8, 7 or those lucky one the X

The SE2 should have current gen specs, not the ones from 2 generations ago. SE1 had the same specs as iphone 6S which was the latest iphone at that time...not from 5s.
It would be a dick move for apple to go with the iphone 7 specs and charge 700 dollars for it.

If they ... moreThe current SE isnt selling well anymore, Apple thinks its because its too small, they dont understand that the reason is that SE is too good and everyone who want small phones already got an SE, or a 5s which is still an amazing fast phone.
I trust these rumours so i just go ahead and buy an 128GB SE now and keep my older SE for backup. Maybe in 2020 we get a new compact device, and looking at the current LTE roadmaps i am unlikely to need any bands not supported by the current SE, i will stay happy no problem, 400 euro for a brandnew SE 128GB is very cheap. And the money i save by not being tempted by any new iPhones i use for a Garmin D2 Delta aviator watch, if thats not a happy ending i dont know what is!

Xiomi had complete marketing, after sales and support ecosystem in my region. They can easily play hard and take away potential flagship customers. I don't think anyone sensible would even considering paying anything more than $400-$450 for a flagship at all time from now on wards.

Galaxy Note 8 owners would be thrilled if they had the warmed-up performance of the A9, how much more if they had A10 performance? There will be Note 11 before android catches up with A10 performance, how bad can it be then?

Isn't the point of the iPhone SE its (small) size? If they put it in the body of an iPhone 8, then won't it just be a cheaper version of the iPhone 8, with lesser components, not a successor to the iPhone SE.

maybe Apple was thinking about if they equip A11 or A12, noone buy ipX :(

Not surprised that they'll use old parts for the iPhone SE X, clearing old inventory from 2016 and selling them at 2018 prices. Genius business thinking at its finest, keeping investors happy while keeping their b-r-a-i-n-l-e-s-s customers happy too. /s

A9 chip is the bare minimum for AR.

So most likely they will use A9 and above for full app compatibility.
