Shame on Apple that started this stupid notch game.
I'm very happy that at least Samsung didn't follow this design flaw.

I'll be content with my $224 Essential Phone soon enough. Hate tall devices. Waiting for foldable screens.

Huge disappointment. Probably still no lossless zoom and worse depth detection in portrait mode than the competition (as dual pixel depth detection only works well for near objects). Apparently no dual selfie camera either. And the alleged sample images don't look better than the Nexus 5x camera in HDR+ On mode.

That notch is obnoxious. And a 3,430 mAh battery powering a supposed 6.7" screen? A smaller battery than the 2XL with a larger screen? No, just no. Good bye Nexus 6P, hello Note 9 next spring.

That notch is deeper than the Mariana Trench.
Trust Google to take Apple's worst traits (no card slot, no 3.5 mm jack, ugly notch) and make it even worse.

This confirms how badly I'm not getting this phone. Razer 2 is looking pretty good right now compared to this...lack of effort.

Well won't be buying it on release or anytime soon due to overkill of asking price and I lost my trust and respect to Google because all they want is to be like Apple, copying them, and their software excellence is not consistent at all, you have superb experience for like three months and then suddenly things are broken with a software upgrade, and who wants to use a Pixel with outdated software anyway. Though next year might look into knowing it will again rule the camera section, let's see.
